The author has given much time to this work during a period of nearly three years and yet the book is not as complete as could be desired. We sent letters to all of the name, or who were connected with us in the particular branch of the Martin family, throughout the country, requesting such information as they might possess relating to descendant and family history. A number remain unanswered. Some do not care to reply, while others delayed their reply until it was too late.
