Synopsis Mark of Truth by : Graceley Knox

Ever Leath, leader of the deadliest crew within the Magical Enforcement and Containment Agency's ranks, has always known she's a half-breed-until a visit from her estranged mother changes everything. She's determined to marry Ever off for political gain, no matter the consequences-even if it means Ever's life. Searching for the truth leads to disturbing doubts about Ever's heritage, and just as answers appear, so does Dare Fitzpatrick. Captain of the Royal Goblin Guards and son to the current Goblin King, he claims he knows who Ever's real father is and that she could be in danger. Ever doubts Dare, until he helps her escape the clutches of her would-be suitor and grants her shelter within the Goblin Kingdom. Staying in Goblin, which has previously been off-limits to half-breeds, is a risk Ever has to take to keep everyone she loves safe. Neither of them planned on the fiery heat between them, but Dare won't take no for an answer. Ever knows she can't risk losing her heart to the cocky goblin, despite her attraction to him. At least that's the plan. Until it all falls apart.

Synopsis When Truth Gives Out by : Mark Richard

Is the point of belief and assertion invariably to think or say something true? Is the truth of a belief or assertion absolute, or is it only relative to human interests? Most philosophers think it incoherent to profess to believe something but not think it true, or to say that some of the things we believe are only relatively true. Common sense disagrees. It sees many opinions, such as those about matters of taste, as neither true nor false; it takes it as obvious that some of the truth is relative. Mark Richard's accessible book argues that when it comes to truth, common sense is right, philosophical orthodoxy wrong. The first half of the book examines connections between the performative aspects of talk (what we do when we speak), our emotions and evaluations, and the conditions under which talk and thought qualifies as true or false. It argues that the performative and expressive sometimes trump the semantic, making truth and falsity the wrong dimension of evaluation for belief or assertion. Among the topics taken up are: racial slurs and other epithets; relations between logic and truth; the status of moral and ethical talk; vagueness and the liar paradox. The book's second half defends the idea that much of everyday thought and talk is only relatively true or false. Truth is inevitably relative, given that we cannot work out in advance how our concepts will apply to the world. Richard explains what it is for truth to be relative, rebuts standard objections to relativism, and argues that relativism is consistent with the idea that one view can be objectively better than another. The book concludes with an account of matters of taste and of how it is possible for divergent views of such matters to be equally valid, even if not true or false. When Truth Gives Out will be of interest not only to philosophers who work on language, ethics, knowledge, or logic, but to any thoughtful person who has wondered what it is, or isn't, for something to be true.

Synopsis Musical Truth 2 by : Mark Devlin

In his groundbreaking book 'Musical Truth, ' DJ-turned author/ researcher Mark Devlin showed how the true nature of the corporate music industry tells a very different story to what's conveyed on its glossy, glamorous surface. The manipulations run so deep, however, that the full story couldn't be told in just that first book. Here, in Volume 2, he continues to guide readers through the dark labyrinth of machinations. Discover the world of Lifetime Actors and the crucial part they play in social engineering; delve into Heavy Rock, frequently touted as the most 'satanic' of all music genres; consider the evidence for the hip-hop scene being a cult-like fraternity on a staggering scale; reflect on the nature of sound itself and the ways it can be used to affect human behaviour; and study the striking parallels between the 1960s counter-culture and the UK's Acid House scene that kicked off 21 years later, all bearing the hallmarks of Establishment manipulation. Crucially, Volume 2 reminds readers of how the music industry's activities form only one small part of what's really going on in this reality, and how the power to bring it all to an end lies with us and us alone. It always has. We've just been programmed to forget. Amazon review excerpts for 'Musical Truth, Volume 1' "I came across this book by chance, and am so glad I did. It's very well-written and a fascinating subject. It goes far deeper than just the music, too, the first chapter explaining how music fits into the larger scheme of things is spot-on. The author explains everything he speaks about, and provides links and other resources so the reader can check all the facts for themselves... and it all checks out!" "Excellent tome! Very well-researched, engagingly presented, pithy, witty, incisive and compelling." "I was aware of much of its content already, but Mark Devlin has brought so many pieces of a puzzling jigsaw together in an immensely comprehensive and articulate way. His style of writing is very natural and readable which makes it effortless for the reader - a skill that not all writers of this genre possess." "Beautiful, easy-reading language, where his soul combined with his intellect controls the pen. I just wanted to continue reading the whole night. Important stuff about our reality."

Synopsis What Truth is by : Mark Jago

Mark Jago offers a new metaphysical account of truth. He argues that to be true is to be made true by the existence of a suitable worldly entity. Truth arises as a relation between a proposition - the content of our sayings, thoughts, beliefs, and so on - and an entity (or entities) in the world.
