Inclusion in the classroom is a growing phenomenon that covers a range of areas and subjects; with prominent discussions about race, gender, sexual orientation, and age, today’s world is increasingly focused on making sure education is designed so everyone can succeed. Inclusivity in special education is particularly important as special education covers a wide range of students, including those with physical, intellectual, and behavioral disabilities. Synopsis From Special To Inclusive Education In India: Case Studies Of Three Schools In Delhi by : Jha Madan Mohan

From Special to Inclusive Education in India: Case Studies of Three Schools in Delhi focuses on the growing international interest in inclusive education and on how to offer equal education to all children regardless of their needs, or their social, cultural and economic backgrounds. With the number of private schools that admit children identified with special needs, particularly of the non-physical and non-sensory categories, as a part of "integrated" or "inclusive" education, increasing in India, the challenges of inclusive education in India are also many. The concerns that require attention involve the inclusion of children with disabilities and special needs, those from socially and economically disadvantaged groups and from diverse cultural and linguistic groups, and those alienated in classrooms that offer non-relevant curricula and teacher-centred methods. This book discusses these issues and challenges against the background of the existing educational system. Using a case study approach, the author has examined three different schools in Delhi where "special" needs children have been admitted, and has analysed the findings against the background of the Indian education policy and its provisions for special education.

Synopsis Global Learning in the 21st Century by : Tassos Barkatsas

In this 21st century, technological and social changes have never been as rapid as before, and educative practices must evolve and innovate to keep up. What is being done by educators today to prepare future global citizens? What are the skills and competencies that will be required by our students? What changes in how we approach education might need to be made? This book presents a modern focus on some significant issues in teaching, learning, and research that are valuable in preparing students for the 21st century. The book discusses these issues in four sections. The first section presents contemporary, innovative curriculum and pedagogical practices that are relevant for the 21st century. This also includes how social networking has an integrated role within current educative practice. The next section then explores issues and current research around motivation and engagement, and how these are changing in this era of technological and social change. The third section presents debates around inclusion and social contexts, both global and local. Finally, the fourth section explores current discourses in regard to internationalisation and globalisation and how these are being considered in educational research. The book is an important representation of some of the work currently being done for these rapidly changing times. It will appeal to academics, researchers, teacher educators, educational administrators, teachers and anyone interested in preparing students for a modern and globally interconnected world.

Synopsis Challenges and Issues facing the Education System in South Africa by : Legotlo, Marekwa Wilfred

The quality of education is pivotal for the production of human capital and this cannot be compromised by failing to refocus on the quality of education offered in schools. The inputs in the system such as trained and motivated teachers, buildings and classrooms including sanitation, clean water, instructional material such as textbooks, as well as strong leadership with vision to steer the winds of change are important in providing the desired outcomes. The chapters in this volume are broadly divided into three subsections as follows: learner related issues, (farm and rural schools, poverty and schooling, school violence, and students rights); teacher related issues,(teacher morale and motivation, teachers for all schools, management needs of school principals); and administrative/policy related issues (inclusive education, and school community relations). The social demand for better schools, effective principals, qualified and committed teachers and better opportunities for all place a huge challenge to provinces and the state to protect the rights of all citizens. This volume sets out the challenges facing the education system in South Africa, such as poor school infrastructure, poor learning conditions, and a lack of learning materials and provides recommendations on how some of these can be overcome.

Synopsis Energy and Infrastructure Management in Post Covid-19 Era by : Lalit K. Khurana

Covid-19 outbreak has been the biggest health, social and economic emergency the world has ever faced since the Second World War. The pandemic has drastically changed, at least temporarily, the way society, businesses, and infrastructure systems operate. It has forced us to take a closer look at our woefully inadequate health infrastructure. It also led to the closure of educational institutions and turned formal learning into distance learning, posing a daunting challenge of demand for e-learning infrastructure. Social distancing policies (SDPs), encouraging people to stay home and limit gatherings, impacted wide range of services and industries. The telecommunications infrastructure, in particular, became a spotlight in view of its critical importance to keep businesses, governments, and societies connected and running in the period of economic and social disruption. The governments acknowledged a fact that “telecommunications, internet services, broadcasting, cable services, IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS)” are the essential services. Work from Home (WFH) seemed a positive experience, however with some adverse impact on the social, behavioural and physical factors. ICEIM 2022 is a humble contribution of SPM PDEU in terms of presenting a scholarly platform wherein abundance of ideas, answers, right questions, and complementing new learning’s are expected to emerge. The conference aims at discussing and deliberating various contemporary issues and challenge in the management of energy & infrastructure. The conference showcases seven tracks, five of which are Business & Technology, Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, and Project & Operations Management. Then in view of emerging scenario, two more tracks were added namely, Business Analytics and Data Science, Strategies & Entrepreneurship Management. We do expect to receive 80–90 research papers covering various tracks of the conference. We have so far got regular research papers, industry papers, Ph.D. research papers and students’ research articles. New research directions also constitute an agenda of a conference. This conference had three plenary sessions: a) Emerging Electrical Vehicle Ecosystem: Prospects and Impediments, b) Infrastructure Development in India: Policy Perspectives and Innovative Financing Initiatives, c) Energy Sector Management: Challenges and Strategies in Industry 4.0 era. All the plenary sessions of this conference have speakers mostly from the industry. We strongly believe that this International Conference will provide ample opportunities to all participants to disseminate new research ideas with industry professionals as well as the policy-makers. It is also believed that this International Conference will initiate new thought process towards the issues and challenges faced by the energy and infrastructure and will definitely add substantially to the existing domain of knowledge. We are pleased to present this proceeding of the International Conference to the academicians, researchers, industry practitioners and policy-makers who all have joined hands towards building the new knowledge development in the area of energy & infrastructure management.
