Discover a tale that was written in another world. The essence of a powerful magic force known as the Manaya is lost one night when an evil wizard steals it to become its last guardian-the Kimeiji-again. The incident triggers a chain of events that lead an entire world into war, and as a result, kingdoms fall, countries divide, many people die, and history is marked forever. Yet, one night, the past seems to return when a wounded dragon that falls from the sky entrusts Atrelis with a magic amulet. It turns out, the amulet is the key of the Manaya, which long ago allowed the Kimeiji to control the powerful magic force. Now, evil mercenary creatures known as Kali troopers are after the amulet, and so Atrelis must deliver it to Minol, its last owner, before it is too late. Thus, Atrelis is plunged into an unforgettable mission in which he encounters fantastical creatures and reaches extraordinary places where danger, excitement, deception, and magic lead him to the first step of the destiny he is not sure he wants to fulfill. Synopsis Autoimmune Neurology by :
Autoimmune Neurology presents the latest information on autoimmune neurologic disease, the immune response to the body where organs run wild, causing the immune system to attack itself. Autoimmunity is a main element in numerous nervous system diseases and can target any structure within the central or peripheral nervous system. Over the past 20 years, significant advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology of autoimmune disorders, including the use of biomarkers has led to new diagnosis and treatment options. Neurologic conditions associated with autoimmune reactions include dementia, neuromuscular disease, epilepsy, sleep disorders, diabetes, and other common neurologic disorders and disease. This current tutorial-reference will be a must-have title for clinical neurologists, research neurologists, neuroscientists, and any medical professional working with autoimmune disease and disorders. - Includes comprehensive coverage of autoimmune neurology - Details the latest techniques for the study, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and disorders, including dementia, neuromuscular disease, epilepsy, and sleep disorders - Presents a focused reference for clinical practitioners and the clinical neurology and neurology research communities

Synopsis Stroke Genetics by : Hugh S. Markus
Stroke is a major cause of death and the major cause of adult neurological disability in most of the world. Despite its importance on a population basis, research into the genetics of stroke has lagged behind that of many other disorders. However, the situation is now changing. An increasing number of single gene disorders causing stroke are being described, and there is growing evidence that polygenic factors are important in the risk of apparently "sporadic" stroke. Stroke Genetics provides an up-to-date review of the area, suitable for clinicians treating stroke patients, and both clinical and non-clinical researchers in the field of cerebrovascular disease. The full range of monogenic stroke disorders causing cerebrovascular disease, including ischaemic stroke, intracerebral haemorrhage, aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, are covered. For each, clinical features, diagnosis, and genetics are described. Increasing evidence suggest that genetic factors are also important for the much more common multifactorial stroke; this evidence is reviewed along with the results of genetic studies in this area. Optimal and novel strategies for investigating multifactorial stroke, including the use of intermediate phenotypes such as intima-media thickness and MRI detected small vessel disease are reviewed. The book concludes by describing a practical approach to investigating patients with stroke for underlying genetic disorders. Also included is a list of useful websites.

Synopsis Integrative Neurology by : John W. McBurney
"Neurology is a quantitively small corner of medicine that, increasingly, occupies a position of outsized importance and distinction in both the practice of medicine and in the health and well-being of society. The Decade of the Brain came into public awareness in 1990 as an initiative of president George W. Bush involving the NIH and NIMH "to enhance public awareness of the benefits to be derived from brain research"(1). In the intervening 20 years since 1999, we have seen significant increases in understanding the myriad of neurological diseases that confront society"--

Containing 15 contributions from international clinicians, this volume provides an introduction to telemedicine as it is practiced in neurology today. It is divided into three sections: techniques, applications, and practical issues. Technical information has been kept to a minimum, as the emphasis is on the utility of each technique, rather than the technology itself.
