Synopsis A Time to Remember by : Charles Henry Pointer
The idea for writing this book came about when I wondered where the subject matter would come from to do my third book. I wanted to write a book that I felt strong compassion for, and I remembered when I was a senior getting a bachelor of science degree in secondary education with a major in history and minor in English at Southern Illinois University at Edwards in 1974, which became my teaching areas to teach on the high school level in the state of Missouri, and part of the graduation from the history department required its students to write a historical paper on any topic they were interested in. With the encouragement of my professor Dr. Herbert Rosenthal, he said I should write it on Stokely Carmichael, leader of the civil rights organization called SNCC, which meant nonviolent student coordinating committee, who made the term black power popular because Stokely wanted black people to control their own destiny and build an economic base of power for themselves.

This first book in the series is your guide to learning the crucial thinking tools nobody ever taught you. Time and time again, great thinkers such as Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett have credited their success to mental models–representations of how something works that can scale onto other fields. Mastering a small number of mental models enables you to rapidly grasp new information, identify patterns others miss, and avoid the common mistakes that hold people back. The Great Mental Models: Volume 1, General Thinking Concepts shows you how making a few tiny changes in the way you think can deliver big results. Drawing on examples from history, business, art, and science, this book details nine of the most versatile, all-purpose mental models you can use right away to improve your decision making and productivity. This book will teach you how to: Avoid blind spots when looking at problems. Find non-obvious solutions. Anticipate and achieve desired outcomes. Play to your strengths, avoid your weaknesses, … and more. The Great Mental Models series demystifies once elusive concepts and illuminates rich knowledge that traditional education overlooks. This series is the most comprehensive and accessible guide on using mental models to better understand our world, solve problems, and gain an advantage.

IT'S TIME TO REMEMBER: A RIVETING STORY OF ONE WOMAN'S AWAKENING TO ALIEN BEINGS, by Joy S. Gilbert, is a captivating story, revealing the extraordinary experiences of an amazing woman. Never believing in UFOs, Joy tried to deny her initial encounters. Then realizing that these were the same beings who had loved, guided & protected her throughout her life, her fear dissolved. Here, Joy shares a chronicle of events, which led her to a fully conscious Alien Abduction & her enlightenment. In her own words, Joy shares personal, paranormal experiences, which began in early childhood; how she came to live in India with a Rishi & later a Tibetan Lama. She describes how all these seemingly unrelated incidents, were linked with the Beings who came to her on a winter night in January. A night that she experienced unprecedented depth of understanding as a Being, she was astonished to recognize, told her, "It's time to remember." "IT'S TIME TO REMEMBER will help many persons who have had or will have similar experiences, to open up to the beauty of their own being & higher wisdom, as well as to the guiding Intelligence of life itself."--Kenneth Ring, Ph.D. To order contact: Laughing Bear, P.O. Synopsis Everything Left to Remember by : Steph Jagger
"This will cast a spell on fans of Cheryl Strayed and Glennon Doyle." - Publishers Weekly Between Two Kingdoms meets Wild. In this heart wrenching and inspirational memoir a woman and her mother, who is suffering from dementia, embark on a road trip through national parks, revisiting the memories, and the mountains, that made them who they are. Steph Jagger lost her mother before she lost her. Her mother, stricken with an incurable disease that slowly erases all sense of self, struggles to remember her favorite drink, her favorite song, and—perhaps most heartbreaking of all—Steph herself. Steph watches as the woman who loved and raised her slips away before getting the chance to tell her story, and so Steph makes a promise: her mother will walk it and she will write it. Too aware of her mother’s waning memory, Steph proposes that the two take a camping trip out to Montana—which her mother, on the urging of Steph’s father, agrees to embark upon. An adventure full of horseback riding, hiking, and “tenting” out West quickly turns into one woman’s reflection on childhood, motherhood, personhood—and what it means to love someone who doesn’t quite remember the person she spent her lifetime becoming. A staggeringly beautiful examination of how stories are passed down through generations and from Mother Nature, Everything Left to Remember brings us the wisdom of who our memories make us under the constellations of the vast Montana sky.
