Synopsis Benjamin Manry and the Crimson Journal by : Owen Palmiotti

"To become a man is to make a name for yourself... but what if that name was already taken? What lengths would you go to fulfill your destiny?" --Benjamin Manry After discovering a cursed pirate treasure and being sent back in time to 1763, seventeen-year-old Benjamin Manry, his older brother, and his best friend have joined the reputable Captain Arthur F. Nelson as privateers. Now Ben has been promoted to first officer aboard HMSCourtesy, and a new mission awaits them. But instead of scouring the seas to rid the New World of pirates, King George III has something different in mind: the assassination of Prime Minister George Grenville. While struggling with the implications of this request, Ben is introduced to Lady Louisa Ann, who is cousin to the king and searching for a suitable husband. Louisa Ann and Ben quickly become the talk of the court. To make matters more confusing, Ben reunites with Leah, the girl he thought he'd lost forever. Join Ben on his epic quest during the radical transformation of the British colonies to what will soon become the United States of America.

Synopsis Benjamin Bear's Naughtiest Night Ever! by : Adriana L. Blake

We've all seen the faces of our offspring while we explain the importance of good behavior and the golden rule. After their little eyes glaze over, your words slip into their ear canals on a banner repeating "yada, yada, yada." What if reading your kids an entertaining and lively story could assist you in conveying these lessons without any dazed expressions? It's not your presentation! You'd just about have to stand on your head and blow bubbles out of your nostrils while teaching them, to halt the "yada, yada, yada" procession into their ears. Kids need specific contexts for these important messages, such as within stories or situations, rather than hearing generalities. Young children think in fairly literal ways but moral lessons tend to be vague and abstract, like "be nice," or "treat others well." Teaching in these abstract terms to the younger set is akin to coaching visual learners in a strictly auditory manner. Benjamin's tale also has a wonderful emotional component. In the midst of big trouble, Benjamin still experiences the unconditional love of his parents. Although he doesn't know the word for it, Benjamin learns the meaning of mercy when his parents decide he's been punished enough.

Synopsis Benjamin Manry and the Curse of Blood Bones by : Owen Palmiotti

Benjamin Manry and the Curse of Blood Bones tells of the interwoven fates of Blood Bones, Captain Arthur F. Nelson, and our young hero-to-be, Benjamin Manry. At seventeen, Ben, his brother Harris, and their best friend Sal discover a map written in red dye. It leads them to the cursed treasure of Blood Bones, the ferocious pirate famously hunted by all of Britain in the 1700s. The three adventurers travel back in time to 1763 and join the crew of the Frendrich in the quest for Blood Bones. Little do the time travelers know, but they are an integral part of the curse on the treasure. Blood Bones had two things in mind when he created the curse: revenge and immortality. Can the boys survive and make it back to their own time? "Adventures are great because they are fun, exciting, and make for an interesting story. That is, if you survive to tell it." -Benjamin Manry

THE FIFTH VOLUME IN CHRIS WARD’S EPIC YOUNG ADULT FANTASY SAGA

At the end of everything, there is a new beginning …

With most of the teachers having fled, Endfindinium High School is under the control of evil Godfrey Pendleton and his sinister substitute teachers. Not content just to rule, however, Godfrey, influenced by the Dark Man’s great shadow, will only be satisfied when the school is reduced to a pile of rubble and bricks.

Hiding out in the dark, empty tunnels of Underfloor, Miranda Butterworth aims to foil Godfrey’s plans by unravelling the secrets of the school’s ancient heart chamber. With Godfrey’s cohorts on her tail, however time is running out.

Having returned to Endinfinium, Benjamin Forrest and Wilhelm Jacobs take refuge at the Bay of Paper Dragons Guesthouse. With massive, deadly ghouls wandering the countryside, though, soon Benjamin must do what he fears the most: return to the school and face Godfrey’s growing power.

With the battle for Endinfinium High School and the entire world reaching a critical point, for Benjamin, Wilhelm and Miranda, the stakes have never been higher. And in order to preserve what they hold most dear, a great sacrifice must be made…

Benjamin Forest and the Rise of the Pure Blood is the fifth volume in the epic Endinfinium Saga. Perfect for fans of Harry Potter, it blends magic with alternative worlds and realities, when literally anything has the ability to come to life.

Synopsis Benjamin Disraeli Letters by : Benjamin Disraeli

The 334 letters in this volume cover the period from Disraeli's establishment in the Tory camp under the patronage of Lord Lyndhurst to his election to parliament in 1837. The most important issue to which they speak is the course of Disraeli's political ambitions. In 1835 the road to parliament was not yet clear, for he continued to be haunted by troubles from his past. He was beset by charges of opportunism in his Taunton campaign of 1835, and the longest letters here are those to Edwards Beadon written in justification of past conduct; Disraeli had still to learn the truth of his later dictum, 'never explain.' Also, debts contracted many years before continued to plague him, as they would in years to come. He was tempted by a variety of money-making schemes and the later correspondence makes clear just how close he came to permanent ruin at the hands of his creditors in the spring of 1837. Had the fate of debtors' prison materialized it is doubtful that he would ever have been eligible, in law or in reputation, for a parliamentary career. Disraeli's eventual election for Maidstone in the summer of 1837 marked the emergence of his formal public role. Because he set out early and was a long time in attaining his goals, one is tempted to laud his patience. But the record here suggests that it was instead a matter of energy and endurance. This volume of the Letters brings Disraeli to the threshold of the Victorian era and the beginning of his career as a politician. In late 1837 he failed in his maiden speech, but all major successes lay ahead.
