Synopsis Ever Ancient, Ever New by : Ernest L. Fortin

More than any other thinker in the twentieth century, Ernest L. Fortin, A.A. (1923-2002) resuscitated the study of political philosophy for Catholic theology. Fortin's interests and accomplishments were vast, ranging from the Church Fathers, to Dante and Aquinas, to modern rights, American democracy, and Catholic social justice. His dispassionate scholarly heft was animated by a pressing drive to understand and rise above the crises of our times, and it was applied with a gingerly and accessible touch. Consequently, Fortin's writings are among the most lucid, perceptive, and enjoyable that one will ever read. Ever Ancient Ever New is the fourth and final volume of Ernest Fortin's collected essays, compiled and edited after his death by his archivist and student Michael Foley. While it echoes the themes of the earlier three volumes-showcasing the essays that made Fortin such an authority in his field-Ever Ancient Ever New also includes articles never before published as well as articles on topics not represented in the earlier collections. Ever Ancient Ever New is indispensable for anyone wishing to continue their education in the wit and wisdom of Ernest Fortin or to begin learning from him for the first time.

Synopsis The Truth Shall Make You Free by : Jorge Mendez

Contents in this books and style of writing will absolutely burn and offend countless. So be it. Therefore, whoever this book offends, he or she has a dilemma. Control and wisdom with prayer, the Lord will graciously give you if asked. And with prayer, trust in him, and Christ will help them who ask immensely. Verify all things, that is my advice to everyone. Study and read the holy Bible. All information read will be beneficial to anyone who opens the word of life. What knowledge the author is setting down concerning all written biblical prophecy mostly is history now. However, all lies, false doctrines, anything that has not come to pass will be exposed to all that seek truth, not to issue fear but so that you may know what many forget that is due to come. How does that old saying go? "The truth hurts." I'm sure Christians will understand. The brave Christian publisher will be blessed for spreading truth. This manuscript is extremely necessary because, ladies and gentlemen, you and I are in the last days.

Synopsis John Dewey's Later Logical Theory by : James Scott Johnston

By 1916, Dewey had written two volumes on logical theory. Yet, in light of what he would write in his 1938 Logic: The Theory of Inquiry, much remained to be done. Dewey did not yet have an adequate account of experience suitable to explain how our immediate experiencing becomes the material for logical sequences, series, and causal relations. Nor did he have a refined account of judging, propositions, and conceptions. Above all, his theory of continuity—central to all of his logical endeavors—was rudimentary. The years 1916–1937 saw Dewey remedy these deficiencies. We see in his published and unpublished articles, books, lecture notes and correspondence, the pursuit of a line of thinking that would lead to his magnum opus. John Dewey's Later Logical Theory follows Dewey through his path from Essays in Experimental Logic to the publication of Logic: The Theory of Inquiry, and complements James Scott Johnston's earlier volume, John Dewey's Earlier Logical Theory.
