Synopsis Forgiving My Father, Forgiving Myself by : Ruth Graham

When we live with unresolved anger or hurt, the result is nearly always bitterness, broken relationships, and unhealthy behaviors. Unforgiveness not only sabotages our interactions with those around us, it impedes our own spiritual growth and inner peace. And it can happen to anyone. In her most vulnerable writing yet, Ruth Graham reveals how a visit to Angola Prison inspired her to release the unforgiveness lurking in her own heart--toward others, herself, and even her heavenly Father and her earthly father, evangelist Billy Graham. In this encouraging book, she weaves her own personal experiences with biblical examples to explore what holds us back from forgiving others and ourselves--and what we gain when we finally discover the power to forgive. Along the way, she guides us into our own deeply personal experiences of forgiveness that will penetrate our protective walls and unleash true transformation in our lives.

Synopsis Studies in the Textual Criticism of the New Testament by : Bart D. Ehrman

For the first time in one volume this book presents contributions to the textual criticism of the New Testament made over the past twenty years by Bart Ehrman, one of the premier textual scholars in North America. The collection includes fifteen previously published articles and six lectures (delivered at Duke University and Yale University) on a range of topics of central importance to the field. Following a general essay that gives an introduction to the field for beginners are several essays dealing with text-critical method, especially pertaining to the classification of the Greek manuscript witnesses. There then follow two articles on the history of the text, several articles on important specific textual problems, and three articles on the importance and use of patristic evidence for establishing the text and writing the history of its transmission. The volume concludes with six lectures designed to show the importance not only of reconstructing an allegedly “original” text but also of recognizing how that text was changed by scribes of the early Christian centuries. This book will be of vital interest to any scholar or advanced student of the New Testament and early Christianity. It will make an ideal companion volume for Bart Ehrman’s ground-breaking study, The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture: The Effects of Early Christological Controversies on the Text of the New Testament (Oxford, 1993) and the volume he co-edited with Michael Holmes, The Text of the New Testament in Contemporary Research: Essays on the Status Quaestionis (Eerdmans, 1995).

Synopsis Father, Forgive My Father by : Sandra G. Lee

Why did you write the book? everyone wanted to know; Why would you put yourself through that all over again? I tell them that it was a promise that I had to fulfill; I was driven by that promise to: 1) inform the general public of a serious social problem of epidemic proportion; 2) help the victims of sexual child abuse better cope with their problems through Christian principles and methods, assuring them that they are not alone in their struggles, 3) bring the perpetrators to a realization of what they are doing; why they are doing it; leading them to seek help and forgiveness, and 4) lead the victim through steps to total healing through forgiveness. I have just completed the book by Sandra G. Lee, Father, forgive my Father. What an awesome book and life story to be told. The author shared all aspects of the history of child abuse through her eyes as a child and as an adult. More people should share as Sandra Lee has and the world would be a better place. Hats off to Sandra for being a strong and dedicated Christian to face adversity with non Christian individuals or those in denial of an eppidemic worth sharing. There should be more people such as her to keep the world in a better place.

Synopsis Forgiving Our Fathers and Mothers by : Leslie Leyland Fields

“If our families are to flourish, we will need to learn and practice ways of forgiving those who have had the greatest impact upon us: our mothers and fathers.” Do you struggle with the deep pain of a broken relationship with a parent? Leslie Leyland Fields and Dr. Jill Hubbard invite you to walk with them as they explore the following questions: What does the Bible say about forgiveness? Why must we forgive at all? How do we honor those who act dishonorably toward us, especially when those people are as influential as our parents? Can we ever break free from the “sins of our fathers”? What does forgiveness look like in the lives of real parents and children? Does forgiveness mean I have to let an estranged parent back into my life? Is it possible to forgive a parent who has passed away? Through the authors’ own compelling personal stories combined with a fresh look at the Scriptures, Forgiving Our Fathers and Mothers illustrates and instructs in the practice of authentic forgiveness, leading you away from hate and hurt toward healing, hope, and freedom. As Jesus is dying on the cross, taking away the sins of the world by His suffering, His humiliation, and His precious blood; He had enough grace to say to His Father, "Father, forgive them: for they know not what they do." If the Son of God {Jesus} can forgive us, despite the pain and shame He endured for us; who are we to not forgive our fellowman! We must truly learn how to forgive those who have committed wrongs against us so that we can become better servants of the Lord our God. "Father, Forgive Them" is a Book of Prayers that will remind us of the power of forgiveness as we endure hardships and betrayals from our fellowman. "Father, Forgive Them" is the 35th Career Book Publication of Christian Author & Minister Bobby John Richard, Jr. (BA) in hopes that we all come to the understanding that if we are not able to forgive others: God Will Not Forgive Us! Amen.
