Synopsis Elf Raised by : Kris Austen Radcliffe

The Elf King of Alfheim’s got some explaining to do. Werewolves, vampires, and witches have been allowed to live—and cause problems—in Arne Odinsson’s domain. The other Elven Courts want an explanation, and when the Elf Emperor calls a Conclave in Las Vegas, Arne and his people have no choice but to defend themselves. With his control of Alfheim riding on the quality of his Conclave witnesses, Arne sends Frank Victorsson and a werewolf, Remy Geroux, to track down a reformed succubus whom Alfheim helped centuries ago. But when Frank makes the mistake of offering his services to a trickster god, he and Remy must navigate not only angry spirits and elven politics, but also a horde worse than vampires—cosplayers. Because where would an international Elven Conclave happen? At the world’s largest international cosplay gathering, of course. Welcome to Las Vegas’s own “Elfcon,” baby. May we all survive.

Synopsis Enough with This Slow Life! I Was Reincarnated as a High Elf and Now I’m Bored: Volume 1 by : rarutori

Life in the Great Pulha Woodlands is the very definition of stillness and tranquility—and Acer’s had enough of it! That’s right. Acer isn’t quite like the other high elves of the forest. For starters, he remembers living a past life as a human in another world...meaning he’s got a taste for meat, adventure, and plenty of other decidedly un-elven things! He’s also bored out of his skull after 120 years of the peace and quiet of their serene sylvan lifestyle. So with nothing more than his trusty bow, a bundle of life-giving fruit, and his close bond with the spirits of nature, Acer leaves the monotony of the forest behind to seek a new life, one that’s more his pace. See what excitement awaits in the outside world full of humans, dwarves, and even other elves!

Synopsis Codex Rosmanicus by : Bret James Stewart

The literature of the past fascinates the modern reader. Part of this fascination is the paradox of the time and distance that creates a sense of the alien while remaining relevant in the present. Some of the most interesting examples of such work can be found in the codices, such as the Exeter Book, that are frequently compilations of anonymous older texts. Codex Rosmanicus ("The Book of Rosman") is modelled after such works. The codex is a collection of writings compiled by the fictitious narrator/compiler Jaren the Traveller. The lines between fiction and reality are nebulous as the book contains personages/settings from the real world as well as those that are fictitious/fantastical. No attempt has been made to separate the two. In keeping with the feel of an ancient compiled work, the codex contains a mixture of literary forms: poetry, a play (a dramatic tragedy), and short stories. A death knight, an Ice Maiden, and a collection of the denizens of faerie lurk within its pages.

Synopsis Elf Lord by : David Wright

Deep in the heart of Xristhana, richest city in all of Ilios, an ancient ritual is about to occur, a glaive duel between champions. It is a custom enjoyed by all noble elves, all except Ilona, fabled princess of the House of Fire. When she fails to thwart the barbaric duel with her powerful magic, she is confronted by the victor who attempts to win her heart with his prize. Before love can blossom, Mithrain, who is a lowly glaive lord’s son, must return to the battlefield. Meanwhile Ilona learns of a plot to murder him and his family. Against all reason, she journeys to the Blacklands to save him. Ten years later, Mithrain returns to Xristhana a changed elf. Violent and sullen, he seems hell-bent on revenge against the powerful magical clan of Etoca, and this time Ilona may be powerless to save him. But there are greater troubles on the horizon. Magic is about to fail the enchanted city of Xristhana, a demon is on the rise and a monster perhaps even more powerful awaits just beyond the nether vale.

Synopsis Creative Campaigning by : Anthony Corrado

Ronald Reagan started it, back in 1977. George Bush perfected the art in 1988. In the 1980s and 1990s, Democrats as well as Republicans running for president (or thinking of doing so), have followed Reagan's lead in establishing precandidacy PACs as a way of raising more money faster, without the regulatory rigors laid down by Congress and the Federal Election Commission. Marshalling years of experience on the campaign trail, Anthony Corrado has documented for the first time the fundraising and spending patterns of presidential candidates who feel forced to circumvent the system in order to amass enough funds to mount a contemporary presidential campaign. He shows how a variety of factors—contribution limits, the delegate selection process, expenditure ceilings, and costly campaign strategies—have combined to push candidates to establish PACs to raise and spend money on campaign activities well in advance of an official declaration to run. These lofty-sounding organizations—such as Bush's "Fund for America's Future" and Gephardt's "Effective Government Committee"—operate as "shadow campaigns" throughout the nomination process and often live on beyond the candidate's formal bid for office. The year 1992 is a special case in presidential election year history because of the strong Bush incumbency, a reluctant Democratic challenge, and a series of foreign policy crises. Corrado explains why precandidacy PACs persist and how they are likely to grow (in number and clout) if an array of bold new reform measures is not implemented prior to the next open presidential election in 1996. After showing how the Federal Election Campaign Act not only permits but in fact inspires presidential candidates to break the laws governing campaign finance, Corrado points out how, ironically, less regulation may yield greater compliance and a more effective nomination process in the 1990s and beyond.
