Synopsis Srimad Bhagavata Volume – 2 by : Swami Tapasyananda
The Srimad Bhagavata (or Srimad Bhagavatam) is one of the few main Puranas and a great Book on Bhakti (devotion). It consists of 18000 verses and is regarded as an encyclopedia of spiritual philosophy.Attributed to the sage Vyasa the Bhagavata (also Bhagavatam) illustrates religious truths with stories of ancient India’s saints seers and kings. The book also deals in part with the life of Krishna (which makes the book especially sacred to the Vaishnavas). The set consists of four volumes each with Devanagri Sanskrit and English translation mainly in the lines of Sridhara’s interpretation. The verses are numbered. A thorough introduction explains the methodology and outlook of Pauranika literature in respect to space time nature and man.Prologues are also included with each Skanda to further the reader’s understanding of the text.

Synopsis Varaha Purana by : B K Chaturvedi
Hearing, reading, reciting Varaha Purana destroys one?s sins, liberates one and assuages the mind?s sufferings. It also yields sons and grandsons. When Varaha Purana is heard in a ?Teertha? it bestows much greater ?punya? than received by hearing it at any other place.ÿ Reading one chapter of the Varaha Purana grants the same amount of ?Punya? as can be obtained by donating to a Brahmin a healthy cow. One gets the reward received by performing a huge yagya (sacrifice) if one reads ten chapters of this Purana. He who reads, listens or arranges the recital of this Purana becomes beloved of Lord Narayana immediately.

Synopsis Koorma Purana by : Dr. Vinay
The Puranas work as guiding inspiration in Hindu life. The stories of Puranas reflect the composite human nature of all times. The lessons of the Puranas are captivating, entertaining and widely followed by the Hindus, so much that it can undisputedly be said that the Puranas are the beacons of Indian ethos. Today, when the old values seem outdated, the stories of the Puranas bring forth the lessons as much the graceful as were in old times. There are 18 Puranas, which tell the tales of vice and virtue, good and evil, religion and irreligion and so on. These are relevant even today. Koorma Purana is one of them. Its text is presented in form of a tortoise's expression of stories and morals out of them. The word 'Tortoise' means 'Koorma' in Sanskrit. According to Hindu scriptures, the Koorma was the metamorphosed form of Lord Vishnu, in his second incarnation. The morals derived from the stories spoken by the Koorma, were actually emanating from metamorphosed Lord Vishnu. The Koorma discusses the Shaiva and Shaakta theories.
