Hans Ulrich Schleppi (1720-1789), of Swiss lineage, emigrated with his family in 1750 from the Palatinate of Germany to Philadelphia, and settled in Bucks (later Northampton) County, Pennsylvania. He and some of his sons served in the Revolutionary War. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Florida, California and elsewhere.
