Synopsis Counting Miracles by : Nicholas Sparks
From the acclaimed author of The Longest Ride and The Notebook comes an emotional, powerful novel about wondering if we can change—or even make our peace with—the path we’ve taken. Tanner Hughes was raised by his grandparents, following in his grandfather’s military footsteps to become an Army Ranger. His whole life has been spent abroad, and he is the proverbial rolling stone: happiest when off on his next adventure, zero desire to settle down. But when his grandmother passes away, her last words to him are find where you belong. She also drops a bombshell, telling him the name of the father he never knew—and where to find him. Tanner is due at his next posting soon, but his curiosity is piqued, and he sets out for Asheboro, North Carolina, to ask around. He’s been in town less than twenty-four hours when he meets Kaitlyn Cooper, a doctor and single mom. They both feel an immediate connection; Tanner knows Kaitlyn has a story to tell, and he wants to hear it. To Kaitlyn, Tanner is mysterious, exciting—and possibly leaving in just a few weeks. Meanwhile, nearby, eighty-three-year-old Jasper lives alone in a cabin bordering a national forest. With only his old dog, Arlo for company, he lives quietly, haunted by a tragic accident that took place decades before. When he hears rumors that a white deer has been spotted in the forest—a creature of legend that inspired his father and grandfather—he becomes obsessed with protecting the deer from poachers. As these characters’ fates orbit closer together, none of them is expecting a miracle . . . but that may be exactly what is about to alter their futures forever.

Synopsis Living in a World of Miracles - Count Your Blessings by : Dueep Jyot Singh
Table of Contents Introduction The Origin Of Prayer And Thanksgiving How to Make One a Believer... Scientific Thought and Miracles Luck and “If Only.” Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction I was just talking to an acquaintance of mine who comes under the category of “why should such a thing happen to me, I didn’t do anything to deserve this…” Believe it or not, there is still a large percentage of such humans in this particular category, possibly in our own family, or around you. It is possible, we being human have done the same thing one time or the other in our lives, when we find ourselves blaming everyone and everything else around us, for a bit of ill luck, a lost chance or opportunity, or any other little mishap that came our way. This book is going to tell you a little bit about faith, miracles, your blessings, and just a word of Thanksgiving. It is also going to tell you all about the reasons why so many people like to blame a superior power for all that has gone wrong with their lives. This is natural, it happened 5,000 years ago, it happens today, and it is going to happen 5,000 years from this day onwards. That is because we are so human, and would rather blame fate, a higher supreme power, luck, or anything else for whatever is going on in our lives today. We definitely do not want the responsibility for the mess that we have made of our own lives by using our own natural analytical abilities, judgment, mental powers, intellect, or any other power, given to us by nature, with which she had programmed mankind to survive. Man is basically a slothful creature, physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Also, he is always on the defensive. Anything he did that turned into a catastrophic end, is definitely not to be blamed upon him. One does not intend to take responsibility of anything or any of his actions, as long as there is someone else upon whose shoulders he can lay the blame. This immature mental outlook has been the reason why so many of us make foolish judgments, because we are not willing to listen to reason or advice. We are absolutely capable of thinking for ourselves and fending for ourselves, thank you.

Synopsis The Case Against Miracles by : John W. Loftus
For as long as the idea of "miracles" has been in the public sphere, the conversation about them has been shaped exclusively by religious apologists and Christian leaders. The definitions for what a miracles are have been forged by the same men who fought hard to promote their own beliefs as fitting under that umbrella. It's time for a change. Enter John W. Loftus, an atheist author who has earned three master's degrees from Lincoln Christian Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Loftus, a former student of noted Christian apologist William Lane Craig, got some of the biggest names in the field to contribute to this book, which represents a critical analysis of the very idea of miracles. Incorporating his own thoughts along with those of noted academics, philosophers, and theologians, Loftus is able to properly define "miracle" and then show why there's no reason to believe such a thing even exists. Addressing every single issue that touches on miracles in a thorough and academic manner, this compilation represents the most extensive look at the phenomenon ever displayed through the lens of an ardent nonbeliever. If you've ever wondered exactly what a miracle is, or doubted whether they exist, then this book is for you.

Synopsis My Miracles... Believe in Them Count on Them by : Philla Sue Wiruth
"It's a Miracle!" We have all heard someone exclaim those words about something that has happened in life. A Miracle is an explicable happening that is beyond explanation by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of God. The stories you are about to read, I consider Miracles. They happened to me. Without the hand of God in these situations, the outcome would have been quite different. I live with the mantra that I not only believe in Miracles, I count on them. We all need Miracles in our lives. You are about to read some that happened in mine.

Synopsis Assassination, Politics, and Miracles by : David Skuy
Annotation An in-depth examination of the event that precipitated the complete domination of Restoration politics by the Royalists and ultimately convinced millions of French citizens to support Louis XVIII and the Bourbon monarchy. On 13 February 1820 the Duke of Berry, the only Bourbon prince capable of siring an heir, was assassinated. Seven months later the Duchess of Berry gave birth to a boy, the Duke of Bordeaux, and the Bourbon lineage was saved. The boy was immediately nicknamed "the miracle child." The Duke's assassination and the birth of his son gave rise to the Royalist Reaction of 1820, a ten-month period that forever altered France's political landscape. This remarkable story provides the backdrop for David Skuy's analysis of the Royalist Reaction and its place in the history of the French Restoration. Skuy argues that the Royalist Reaction was the product of two divergent forces: historical echoes of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Empire and the psychological consequences of the assassination, and the miracle child. Skuy discusses Restoration political theory and the development of modern political parties. He follows the strategems of anti-royalist extremists plotting to overthrow the Bourbon regime, and details the complexities and intrigues that characterized the royal court and parliament. Skuy reveals how the assassination and the birth of the miracle child triggered a popular Royalist Reaction that changed millions of French citizens from passive observers into ardent royalists.
