Synopsis Clothed with Salvation & a Priest Forever by : Walter Klein
"Written for a different age than our own but wrestling with perennial issues clergy and seminarians face, Bishop Walter Klein's Clothed with Salvation: A Book of Counsel for Seminarians is a welcome contribution to providing this much-needed training. Klein was the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana from 1963 to 1971. Perhaps more pertinent to his qualifications to write Clothed with Salvation, first published in 1953, was his experience in seminaries and divinity schools, first as a student and then as a professor. He served as a lecturer at the Philadelphia Divinity School and, in 1938, became chairman of the graduate department of the Philadelphia Divinity School. Klein was also a professor of Old Testament Literature and Languages at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary and served as the seminary's assistant dean between 1952 and 1959. In 1959, he was elected Dean of Nashotah House, where he served until his death in 1963."-From the Foreword

Synopsis The Glory Now Revealed by : Andrew M. Davis
Believers know that when we die we enter heaven and will spend eternity there with God and the saints who have gone before us. But what actually happens in heaven? What are we going to be doing there? Won't it get boring at some point? According to Scripture, a large part of our experience of heaven will be a continual revealing of God's glory. Not just his glory in the moment, but during all of time. The mysteries of providence, the hidden movements of God throughout history, and the forgotten and unnoted works of even the most obscure of God's people will be unveiled so that we can see how wise, loving, gracious, and powerful our God is. And though we will experience perfection in heaven, we will never be omniscient, which means we will always be learning more about God's glory, inspiring us to return joyful praise and thanksgiving. If your vision of heaven has been limited to clouds and harps and angels, it's time to expand that view with the truth found in this biblically based look at the afterlife.

Synopsis The Doctrines of Grace by : James Montgomery Boice
There is no question that we live in an age of weak theology and casual Christianity. We have substituted intuition for truth, feeling for belief and immediate gratification for enduring hope. Evangelicalism desperately needs to return to the doctrines that once before reformed the world: radical depravity, unconditional election, particular redemption, efficacious grace and persevering grace. James Boice and Philip Ryken not only provide a compelling exposition on these doctrines of grace, but also look briefly at their historical impact. The authors leave no doubt that the church suffers when these foundational truths are neglected and that she must return to a Christianity that is practical-minded, kind-hearted, and most importantly, biblically based.

Synopsis God's Day of Salvation by : Thomas Curr
“Then the Lord God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever’—therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.” From Genesis 3. We were shut out of the garden of Eden; lost the right to the tree of life; were cursed to painful toil (men); were cursed to painful childbearing (women); and became innately disobedient to the God who created us. The problem is serious, but the solution is wonderful. It centres on the person Jesus Christ, who will as the Bible describes redeem us from our fallen state and restore our right to the tree of life – and to eternal life. This book unpacks what the Old and New Testaments say about God’s day of salvation.
