Synopsis Frozen Chosin: U.S. Marines At The Changjin Reservoir [Illustrated Edition] by : Brigadier General Edwin H. Simmons
Includes more than 40 maps, plans and illustrations. This volume in the official History of the Marine Corps chronicles the part played by United States Marines in the Chosin Reservoir Campaign. The race to the Yalu was on. General of the Army Douglas MacArthur’s strategic triumph at Inchon and the subsequent breakout of the U.S. Eighth Army from the Pusan Perimeter and the recapture of Seoul had changed the direction of the war. Only the finishing touches needed to be done to complete the destruction of the North Korean People’s Army. Moving up the east coast was the independent X Corps, commanded by Major General Edward M. Almond, USA. The 1st Marine Division, under Major General Oliver P. Smith, was part of X Corps and had been so since the 15 September 1950 landing at Inchon. After Seoul the 1st Marine Division had reloaded into its amphibious ships and had swung around the Korean peninsula to land at Wonsan on the east coast. The landing on 26 October 1950 met no opposition; the port had been taken from the land side by the resurgent South Korean army. The date was General Smith’s 57th birthday, but he let it pass unnoticed. Two days later he ordered Colonel Homer L. Litzenberg, Jr., 47, to move his 7th Marine Regimental Combat Team north from Wonsan to Hamhung. Smith was then to prepare for an advance to the Manchurian border, 135 miles distant. And so began one of the Marine Corps’ greatest battles—or, as the Corps would call it, the “Chosin Reservoir Campaign.” The Marines called it the “Chosin” Reservoir because that is what their Japanese-based maps called it. The South Koreans, nationalistic sensibilities disturbed, preferred—and, indeed, would come to insist—that it be called the “Changjin” Reservoir.

Synopsis Female Pelvic Medicine by : Kathleen C. Kobashi
This book is designed as a guide for management of advanced clinical scenarios encountered by the contemporary pelvic floor surgeon. It is organized by pelvic floor disorder (PFD) and covers the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. Opening chapters in each section cover the fundamentals of proper and comprehensive assessment of patient PFDs, as well as the treatment options that are available for each disorder. The book then focuses on more complex and challenging situations that are becoming more frequently encountered as the number of patients being treated for PFD increases and the length of patient follow-up grows. Each chapter finally includes an expert commentary to address these new scenarios and offers a shifted approach from that required for treatment-naïve patients. Female Pelvic Medicine: Challenging Cases with Expert Commentary teaches the reader how to approach the most difficult of clinical situations in a multidisciplinary fashion.

Synopsis Trump University Marketing 101 by : Don Sexton
Trump University Marketing 101 combines the biggest name in business with the 40-year teaching experience of one of the most well-known marketing thinkers in academia. How can they find the best new ideas and avoid those tactics that don’t work or just lead to trouble? Trump University Marketing 101 presents all the basics of a marketing MBA. Each chapter focuses on one key marketing idea and explores it in a straightforward, non-academic manner with exercises and examples that show the idea in action. But more than basic instruction, Sexton also includes his own methodologies for making vital marketing decisions–the same methodologies major corporations pay top-dollar to have him teach their employees. Don Sexton is Professor of Business at Columbia University and principle of The Arrow Group, Ltd.®, a marketing consulting and training firm whose clients have included GE, Citigroup, IBM, and Pfizer, among many others. He has taught at Columbia for more than 35 years, is a recipient of the Business School’s Distinguished Teaching Award, and has written numerous articles on marketing and branding issues. Synopsis Text and Genre in Reconstruction by : Willard McCarty
In this broad-reaching, multi-disciplinary collection, leading scholars investigate how the digital medium has altered the way we read and write text. In doing so, it challenges the very notion of scholarship as it has traditionally been imagined. Incorporating scientific, socio-historical, materialist and theoretical approaches, this rich body of work explores topics ranging from how computers have affected our relationship to language, whether the book has become an obsolete object, the nature of online journalism, and the psychology of authorship. The essays offer a significant contribution to the growing debate on how digitization is shaping our collective identity, for better or worse. Text and Genre in Reconstruction will appeal to scholars in both the humanities and sciences and provides essential reading for anyone interested in the changing relationship between reader and text in the digital age.
