Synopsis Jesse Ventura's Marijuana Manifesto by : Jesse Ventura
New York Times Bestselling Author! In this groundbreaking book – for the first time in paperback and fully-updated with all the latest legal information - outspoken freethinker Jesse Ventura lays out his philosophy. Now more than ever before, our country needs full legalization of medical/recreational marijuana and hemp. Seemingly with every day that goes by we find out more positive things about marijuana, a medicinal plant in abundant supply, yet legalization finds stronger resistance from government agencies and big business. Find out why the US government patented CBD and what Big Pharma companies have exclusive rights to create marijuana medication and why the DEA can’t be trusted. Jesse Ventura’s Marijuana Manifesto calls for an end to the War on Drugs. Legalizing marijuana will serve to rejuvenate our pathetic economy and just might make people a little happier. Ventura’s book will show us all how we can take our country back. “More celebs than ever are jumping on the ‘Legalize’ bandwagon. Why? Because it’s safe now. It won’t impact your career anymore. But Jesse Ventura has been a solid proponent of legal cannabis for decades. In Jesse Ventura’s Marijuana Manifesto, he lays out the good sense of legalization, as well as the sheer insanity of prohibition. As a proud American, he pulls no punches calling out the political elite. - Dan Skye, High Times editor-in-chief “Ventura is ultimately quite convincing about the ineffectuality of the War on Drugs, and on the contradictions and corruptions of the Drug Enforcement Administration, a particular bugbear of his.” - Michael Lindgren, The Washington Post

Synopsis ArtemisSmith's ODD GIRL Revisited by : Artemis (Annselm L. N. V/ Morpurgo) Smith
EXCERPT FROM A REVIEW by Mel Keegan of GLBT Bookshelf ODD GIRL REVISITED is a work of 'rare scholarship'-- so much so that it's not the "easy read" the mass market is looking for these days. It's a window on a world which is gone, and the savvy reader's brows will be popping up in many places, for many reasons ... as much an invaluable glimpse into its times as into the lives and hearts of gay/Gay girls who grew up in the decades before most of us were born.) The strength of the book is in its "realness." And I know that's not a word; but it's what I want to say. The people, places and events in this book are real. Fantastic as it seems (and the first 20pp, the backstory of the author's childhood, do seem more in keeping with a big-budget HBO Movie of the Week!) these events took place. As the Chinese curse goes, "May you live in interesting times." ... Recommended for the well-read; for the reader who isn't using the encyclopedia to prop up the DVD stand; for the writer researching the period'-- with or without any interest in gay culture of the twentieth century. Ideally suited to the American social and cultural studies, and of great interest as a window on the recent past. Also should catch the attention of executives at HBO, who might easily be captivated with the first 20pp, buy the movie rights and never even read the rest of the book! (One can see it now, starring Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Sam Neill and Viggo Mortensen...) --BookWorld.editme.com GLBT Bookshelf, December 6, 2010 Artemis Smith is a prominent strategist of the 1950-60's Rainbow civil rights coalition movements, author of the pulp fiction best sellers 'Odd Girl, ' 'The Third Sex.' and 'This Bed We Made.' This unexpurgated original version is an indispensable addition to every Women's Studies, GLBT and 20th Century literary archive. The Author is an established professional Philosopher, Poet, Artist and Futurist. 'Odd Girl' originally titled 'Anne Loves Beth' has been cited since 1959 by nearly all the name reviewers of the genre and is a recognized classic in sustained demand by modern researchers.

Synopsis Women's Barracks by : Tereska Torres
First Digital Edition; Grier Rating: A*** This is the true-life story of what happens when scores of young girls live intimately together in a French military barracks. Many of these girls, utterly innocent and inexperienced, meet other women who have lived every type of existence. Their problems, their temptations, their fights and failures are those faced by all women who are forced to live together during dangerous and stressful times. The girls who chose Tereska Torres, the author, as their confidante poured out to her their most intimate feelings, their secret thoughts. With all of its revelations and tenderness, Women’s Barracks is an important book because it tells a story that had never been truly told before--the story of women in war. It also has the special distinction of being the first “lesbian pulp” novel ever published and became a record-breaking bestseller. This autobiographical novel takes place in London, England during World War II. The terror of the V-1 and V-2 rocket bombings, and the resulting fires and destruction, are an unknown experience to most readers. The women enduring these events were not even 20 years old when they first arrived. Many volunteered to be there. They were French, or of French heritage, and wanted to be part of the effort to help protect France from invasion by the Nazis. Throughout it all, passions flare, long-standing taboos are tossed to the wind, and passionate relationships are begun between older, more experienced butch officers and the young, inexperienced femme girls under their charge. In her telling of these women’s stories, Torres remains nonjudgmental of the lesbian relationships these women explored. Perhaps as a result, Women’s Barracks was banned in several states for being obscene. The House Select Committee on Current Pornographic Materials denounced the book in 1952 as an illustration of how the newly emerging paperback industry was breeding and promoting moral depravity. By today’s standards, of course, the book is somewhat tame; however, the eroticism and honesty with which Torres writes immerses the reader in the love, tenderness, loyalty and passion that women share with each other.

Certainly few can match her dramatic realism and artistic sensitivity when writing about this subject matter.

Synopsis Artemis Smith's GrandmaMoseX by : Annselm L. N. V. Morpurgo
Annselm L.N.V. Morpurgo is a contemporary of Andy Warhol and is a still-living Poet, Futurist and Scientific Philosopher, and 1950's Founder of the Unisex Movement. Also known as ArtemisSmith, besides operating her own successful off-Broadway workshop that gave rise to many of today's Film and Television celebrities, in the 1950-60's, she was a prominent strategist of the Rainbow and GLBT civil rights movements. Besides her many and diverse literary offerings, ArtemisSmith Morpurgo is also an accomplished artist and sculptor, and the author of the first Information Science explication of Self-Consciousness contiguous with the physical sciences. This Collectors Edition of ArtemisSmith's ground-breaking illuminated multicolor, multifont satirical long-poem, combines Pop Art with Advertising Art and Scientific Calculus to present the Reader with Nietzschean 'calligraphic eye-candy' and 'chicken soup for the Soul'. Grandma, in a gut-wrenching introspective 'thought experiment' turns both Cosmology and Human History on its head in Swiftian fashion to provide a new Atheology compatible with the Unified Information Sciences. The Appendix reprints ArtemisSmith's entire 1989 trend-setting science fiction epic: "SKEETS: the new Frankenstein chronicles" in renewed and enhanced illuminated calligraphic splendor.
