Synopsis Ambitions Fulfilled by : Delia Berryman

Before me there were a few, after me there shall be no more . . . . As I begin to pen my life’s story, I realize that God is to be thanked for His mercy, goodness and grace that has kept me for such a time as this. Today I find myself living on God’s promised three score and ten, and if by reason of strength they may be fourscore – which amounts to eighty years in time. I stand at the threshold of my promised eighty years “with strength” and in God’s favor. Life for me has been quite a journey and most of my ambitions have been achieved and found to be very fulfilling. I am grateful to have been able to accept the opportunities and challenges that have confronted me in my careers and travels. I retired from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years of honorable service. I was fortunate to have people in my life to help strengthen me when I was weak or needed assistance. I covet the memories I have experienced and will never forget the people who were the most influential. I was blessed to complete a second career as a Policeman at Indianapolis, University Purdue University of Indiana. Becoming physically handicapped, I was forced to retire after 23 years of time served instead of the 25- 30 years I had intended. It has been a pleasure to research my past, and with the help of my wife, Delia, I’ve been successful in getting my story in print. I pray you will enjoy reading what I have to share with you and prayerfully I will inspire someone to seek out a lifetime career in the “Army” of the Lord and the U. S. Military Service. Of all the pride I possess for land and country, I’m most proud and thankful that I am where God needed me to be at this time in my life and I have realized the state of mental strain I’m in and now fully seeking the help I so desperately need to get well. I sincerely regret that I fathered no children, especially a son to carry on my family’s name and legacy – therefore, after me there shall be no more!

Synopsis Freedom and Fulfillment by : Joel Feinberg

Dealing with a diverse set of problems in practical and theoretical ethics, these fourteen essays, three of them previously unpublished, reconfirm Joel Feinberg's leading position in the field of legal philosophy. With a clarity and humor that will be familiar to readers of his other works, Feinberg writes on topics including "wrongful life" suits in the law of torts, or whether there is any sense in the remark that a person is so badly off that he would be better off not existing at all; the morality of abortion; educational options; free expression; civil disobedience; and the duty of easy rescue in criminal law. He continues with a three-part defense of moral rights in the abstract, a discussion of voluntary euthanasia, and an inquiry into arguments of various kinds for not granting legal rights in enforcement of a person's acknowledged moral rights. This collection concludes with two essays dealing with concepts used in appraising the whole of a person's life: absurdity and self-fulfillment, and their interplay.

Synopsis Out from Edom by : Patrick Sutton

The Irredente Chronicles, in multiple volumes, derive from disparate, far-future historical sources and tell the interconnected histories of people and sentient machines at an important crossroads: where technology prohibitions clash with the universal imperative to create and propagate. Book I, Out From Edom, follows the entwined fates of a reactionary priest and an urchin boy who flee on separate trajectories from a backwater world attacked by a mysterious alien power. In their separate voyages across the technology-suppressing Irredente hegemony, each encounters strange beings crouching in the shadow of cruelest repression. What the boy and the fallen cleric separately discover, in the hegemony and beyond, will bring the dark Irredente regime face to face with all that it sought to forbid: genovariant humanity and sentient machines.

Synopsis THE NORDIC REGION – a sustainable and integrated region? by : Nordic Council of Ministers Secretariat

Available online: https://pub.norden.org/politiknord2023-728/ Our Vision 2030 describes what it will take to make the Nordic Region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. The sheer ambition makes it important to monitor progress closely. To this end, the Nordic Council of Ministers commissioned Rambøll Management Consulting to conduct baseline measurements back in 2021. The idea was to map out the starting point for work on the vision. This status report follows up on the baseline measurements and assesses progress towards realising the vision. It is based on the 45 indicators adopted by the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2021 and the methodology used for the baseline report. Overall, the 2023 status report shows that the Nordic Region remains on track to become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. This is particularly true for the visions of a competitive Nordic Region and a socially sustainable Nordic Region. However, there is room for improvement with regard to the visions for a green Nordic Region.
