Synopsis Alien Spaces in Similar Places by : Arnold J. Inzko
Alien Spaces in Similar Places is a Sci-fi novel for young adults. Ashton Claiborne, a young and smart lad, played with his mirrors in the attic of his home. He came upon Alana Walton by sheer accident, during one of his frightening trips, wandering into a parallel space. He found out that Alana robbed his grandmother, Nelda, blind. He told his sister about it and both investigated Alana, traveling through the mirrors. His father, Thomas Claiborne, later joined his siblings, helping to hunt down Alana. After Ashton's grandmother died, she sucked her dry of blood and backfilled her with embalming fluid. She was good at her job, and usually she catered to the embalming candidates before they died, familiarizing herself with their financial circumstance and then finishing her job after the victim's death. Eventually, Thomas and his children were instrumental bringing Alana Walton and her accomplices to justice to justice.

Synopsis The Alien Perspective by : David Whitehouse
Astronomer and science writer David Whitehouse takes us on a journey through the evolving cosmos as he considers humankind's place in the universe - and how our survival depends on otherworldly perspectives. From the Earth to the depths of outer space, this inspiring book shows how human evolution has been intertwined with the workings of the cosmos from the very beginning, and what the far-distant future may hold, both for the universe and for ourselves. Given enough time, Whitehouse contends, we must communicate with intelligent aliens whose divergent perspective will transform our understanding of the universe. First contact may even come sooner than we think. We have already transmitted signals towards promising exoplanets. If, say, Gliese 581d harbours life, the return signal could reach us in 2051. Drawing the thread of human consciousness from the cave to the cosmos, the acclaimed author of Apollo 11: The Inside Story charts our future journey to the end of space and time and considers whether something of humanity could remain at the end of it all.

BOOK 3: Alien Shadows -- On a dead planet orbiting a black hole, shadows stir. Some call them ghosts, others merely figments of the imagination. As these astral beings spread across the cosmos, the Alien Hunters stare into the darkness of deepest space . . . and find terror.

Synopsis The Boss from Outer Space and Other Aliens at Work by : Patricia J. Addesso
Anyone who works in an office probably has to deal with at least some people who are so different they might as well be from another planet. These differences can lead to conflict or -- if handled properly -- to a greater appreciation of others and a more productive workplace. The secret to getting along lies in understanding the different personality traits people exhibit and how to relate to them. The author identifies 11 traits that can make work relationships difficult, which she compares to the planets (plus the moon and the sun), including: * Saturn, with its distinctive rings, symbolizes how comfortable one is being different, and shows whether one is more of a conformist or experimenter * Jupiter, made up mostly of gases, has a bubbly spirit, and signifies one's level of optimism * Earth (as in "down to Earth") indicates whether someone is grounded, or has one's "head in the clouds." Fun and easy to read, yet packed with realistic strategies, this very human guide will help anyone on the planet get along with even their most difficult coworker.

Synopsis DreamFlowering (Human Alien Thriller Romance) by : Ryan Davison
The alien planet offers special agent Yutaro rest and romance, until his own government's anti-matter bomb falls. Burnt-out Yutaro just wants the vacation he needs. Cushy duty, and a beautiful alien woman as his guide. Heaven. When the anti-matter bomb threatens to destroy the entire planet, Yutaro must learn her crazy-making alien language and -- even more difficult -- to love a woman for herself. In a galaxy full of aliens very -- er -- alien, the Lia fall quite close to humanoid standards. On their planet Yutaro doesn't need a spacesuit. He survives quite easily breathing its air, drinking its water, and eating its food. Even better, Lia women appear quite beautiful, especially to a hardcore alienophile such as Yutaro. He doesn't even need to take special precautions during sexual intercourse. However, the Lia language greatly concerns Yutaro's superiors. Previous explorers, who learn it as a matter of standard procedure, go insane. Therefore, his boss orders him not to learn the language. Fortunately, one alien woman speaks Cyrillish, the galactic lingua franca. A gorgeous guide, Lavita. Yutaro needs and wants nothing else. Until he receives the news via special message. During a test, an anti-matter bomb loses its hyperspace navigational signal. Instead of blowing up a lifeless planet in a remote solar system, it appears close to a planet where lives an intelligent species. It crash-lands in a wildnerness region of that planet. Lia. The missile's force field continues to keep the anti-matter suspended in a perfect vacuum. But nobody knows how much damage the crash caused, so nobody know how long before the force field malfunctions, allowing the anti-matter to touch ordinary matter -- ka boom! No Lia. His agency gives Yutaro the instructions to disarm the missile. But Yutaro must reach it himself. He must travel through a hostile rain forest the Lia themselves avoid. During the storm season. He hires porters who see no reason to risk their lives. Outlaws and powerful predators threaten. And then another human shows up -- a woman. Vardi. Yutaro knows she must represent Earth's empire -- his enemy. But how could she know about the anti-matter bomb? And would she really set it off, dying with tens of millions of Lia, and Yutaro, so his government gets punished for breaking intergalactic treaties? Sworn to silence, Yutaro lies to Lavita, not realizing to Lia, truthful speech equals life itself. To keep her on his side -- to save both their lives and millions of other Lia -- Yutaro promises to learn the Lia language. He tries to grasp the concept of a language where every word functions as a verb. And soon it begins to drive him insane. According to Lavita, it drives him toward sanity -- for the first time in his life. Can he reach and disarm the anti-matter bomb before the missile's physical condition deteriorates, the force field fails, and the anti-matter encounters ordinary matter, and therefore explodes, destroying the entire planet? Seized by the Alien Space Warrior Abducted by aliens. Sold like livestock. I’m rescued by a muscular, demanding alien. He tells me I’m safe with him, but I know I’m not. From the moment I first set eyes on him, something indescribable and intense sparks between us. I’ve never felt anything like this before. Nothing that makes my heart beat faster and my body ache quite like this. He wants to take care of me. Protect me. And then take me to the Sanctuary with the other rescued women and turn his back on me. He tells me that Dhasu only have one bond-mate in their life and he has already found his, so I cannot be it. Yet I want him. The longer we’re stuck on a hostile planet with the very beings that bought me from that stage, the harder it will be to let him leave me there. Falling for him doesn’t make sense. Maybe I’m losing my mind. Maybe I’ve already lost it. Maybe we’ll die on this horrible planet, but if we really are bonded-mates..? Maybe we’ll get more than we bargained for. Secured by the Alien Space Warrior I’ve been abducted by Reptile aliens and sold to the highest bidder. My saviour is in the form of a ruggedly handsome alien with claws and fangs and lethal fighting skills. Not my usual type. He tells me I’m his bond-mate. That I’m fated for him. From the moment I saw him fighting to save me, an undefinable spark erupts within me. But I’ve been down that track before. Had the boyfriend from hell. Don’t need to drive that road again, no matter how much my body yearns for my alien saviour. He says he will take care of me. Protect me, but how can he do that when we crash land onto a hostile planet and he’s made to fight in a gladiator pit as a slave. Every day his life is at risk, and if he fails to come back the aliens who made him fight will come for me. But we have bigger problems. If we don’t break out of here soon, the whole universe will be at risk. I’m losing the battle to keep my shattered heart intact. The thing is, he’s the only being in the universe that has the power to put me back together. To be whole for the first time in years. If I lose him, I’ll lose everything. Consumed by the Alien Space Warrior No matter how many times I tell myself ‘this’ isn’t happening, every time I open my eyes I have to convince myself all over again. By ‘this’, I mean being sold as a slave and then being thrown into a cell filled with aliens of all different shapes and sizes. Then I’m put in a cage with a deadly alien with biceps the size of my thigh and skin that flashes with a pure, golden light. I think I’m not going to make it through the night. That maybe I’ll be an after dinner snack, but when he calls me his bond-mate, I’m hit with a wave of desire unlike any I’ve ever felt before. He tells me I’m his fated. That I am his and he is mine, and I know he’s right because I feel it deep inside my chest. It’s a knowing that won’t go away no matter how hard I try to ignore it. The only thing is, he shouldn’t want me. Not at all. When we’re taken to an unknown planet, the aliens who brought us here need me for my blood. They’re in the final stage of planning an attack on every being in the universe and they need something from me that will annihilate millions. We can’t let that happen. My alien is a Dhasu warrior and he will tear through hell to save me. But I have a secret. He says he doesn’t care but I know eventually he will. My life was irrevocably torn from me once. I’m going to make sure it never happens again.
