Synopsis Alcohol Fuels Bibliography (1901-March 1980) by : Solar Energy Information Data Bank (U.S.)

Synopsis Alcohol Fuels by : Yongseung Yun

Alcohol fuels must remain as an essential component for the realization of a sustainable low-carbon society. Use of locally available, under-utilized feedstock becomes important for local energy security as well as an option for distributed energy infrastructure. Utilizing the available feedstock that has not been properly regarded as a legitimate resource due to economic and social reasons should be the focal point in the search for possible resources for alcohol fuels. Lignocellulosic biomass and algal species are feedstocks that suit the purpose. This book can provide a brief introduction regarding the recent advances in the alcohol fuel field that is in constant challenge from recent issues on CO2, shale oil, power-to-gas, and hydrogen.

Synopsis Distilling Made Easy by : James Newton

This book has been formulated to help those who are brave enough to attempt the great art of distilling. For many years the information gathered in this book has been privileged knowledge for the craftsmen who cook up our favourite tipples like, Scotch whisky, Irish and American whiskey, Vodka, Rum, Grappa, Raki, Akvavit, Poteen, but know it has been translated into a guide where home based stills can distil and then blend alcohol to be aged and then savoured with your family and friends. This guide gives details on how to build, convert or buy stills and how to use them safely. There is a section about safety and tips to guide you through the distilling process. There are lots of recipes for a whole range of alcoholic drinks and detailed methods of how to get the alcohol you need from your run.

Synopsis Renewable Energy Technologies by : L. A. Kristoferson

Renewable Energy Technologies: Their Applications in Developing Countries presents an overview and assessment of technologies for energy-related projects in the rural sector of developing countries. This book discusses the important, but not dominant, role that new and renewable sources of energy (NARSE) will have in the Third World. Bioenergy fuel sources come from wood fuel, energy crops, agricultural residue and organic wastes, peat, biomass briquettes, biogas, and animal power. The text also describes the problems related to operating biomass engines and to the production of engine fuels such as alcohol fuels, vegetable oil, producer gas made from wood and charcoal. These problems concern land use and site location for growing these fuel crops, government policies or subsidies, as well as competition with prevailing petrol prices. Solar water heaters and photovoltaic cells can be used by households and in bigger institutions; ongoing technological developments mainly focus on cutting down costs and better manufacturing methods. The book also addresses other NARSE such as hydro, wind, and water power generation. This book is suitable for economists, environmentalists, ecologists, and policy makers involved in energy conservation and rural development.
