Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. The Last American, by J. A. Mitchell, appears to have been suggested by Macaulay's New Zealander. The last American is discovered in the ruined capitol of Washington by certain Persians known as Khan-li, Prince of Dimph-yoo-chur; Lev-el-Hedyd, No-f�hl, and so forth. The humour of the production is perhaps measurable by this facetious nomenclature.
