It was 1816 and mighty hard for a sixteen years old man to reconcile himself to having no family. Pa was somewhere in the mountains trapping beaver and Ma had just died. As far as Lew Wilson knew there were no other relatives; nothing left for him to do but go west looking for Pa. If Lew had known what troubles and trials awaited him, maybe he'd just have stayed put, hitched up the oxen and started to plow. Henry, a black runaway slave, the same age as Lew, longs for revenge against the devils who cut out his tongue, whipped him unmercifully and left him for dead. The two young men are launched into an extensive training program, designed to prepare them for dangers in the western wilderness, by a mysterious woman who demands nothing except complete dedication. Over three years time they grow into strong competent fighters, equipped with skills far beyond average western adventurers. When these two meet and become fast friends, the fur flies and they make their own adventures before riding into the west to find their destiny.

Jesus Tradition – early Christian traditions from and about Jesus – plays an important role in New Testament letters, not only in the Gospels and Corpus Paulinum, but also in the seven Catholic Epistles (the epistles of James, I and II Peter, I John, and Jude, which are addressed to the universal Church rather than to an individual or a particular church). This dissertation revolves around the relationship between the Catholic Epistles and the traditions about Jesus that have informed the Gospels. Based on the research, two important observations can be made. First of all, there is a fundamental unity in the witness of the Catholic Epistles regarding their reliance upon and appropriation of Jesus Tradition. The same Jesus can be recognized throughout all Catholic Epistles (with the possible exception of Jude, since its brevity does not supply enough information for clarity about its relation to Jesus Tradition), and this Jesus is not merely a theological construct, but a historical person, very much in line with the Jesus from historical Jesus research. Second, a fundamental unity is observable between the canonical Gospels, Corpus Paulinum and the Catholic Epistles. All three corpora are consciously witnessing to Jesus. Each corpus has its own distinct way of doing this, and the Catholic Epistles can be seen as witnessing Jesus from an apostolic perspective.

"Sustainable development" quickly became the universal goal for environmentalists in the 1990s, motivated by the 1988 Brundtland Report and the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio. When the time came to bring theory into reality, sustainable development revealed far more complexity than first anticipated. The model: Canada's experience with "multistakeholder" decision-making. Under the guidance of Canada's National Task Force on Environment and Economy, nationwide and provincial round tables brought government officials together with corporate officers to formulate sustainable development guidelines. Authorized by the Canadian government to serve as an "Agenda 21 organization," the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) subsequently researched the feasibility of adapting the multistakeholder approach to the needs and practices of developing countries. The results are in these pages: valuable case histories from Africa, Latin America, Asia and Canada, each recounting the risks and benefits from integrating environmental, social and economic policies. When IDRC members were asked for ways to address environmental sustainability, they had few examples to follow"and little evidence that such endeavors could be fulfilled. The research and problem-solving efforts they produced are now collected here, for the guidance of other environment/development balance programs worldwide.

It was refused to be placed in Herods temple modification. Years of preaching has not revealed it. In the story, it is shown how it may have come into existence. The central character is a boy who grows up in Israel during the time of construction of King Davids house and the building of Solomons Temple. He learns of the trade of a stone mason, of the God of Israel and embraces the faith of Israel. He is led to engrave seven eyes on what is to be the Cornerstone.
