Samuel Roach was born in 1737 and died in 1781. He is buried in the Polk family burying grounds, Pinesville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

The progenitors of the Stewart family and of the three allied families of Isom, Guess, and Wilson are: Leroy W. Stewart (1792-ca. 1865), Charles Isom (1775-1855), Henry Guess (1764-1825), and John Wilson (1730-1800).

Albert Torrence (d.1775), Hugh Torrance (1701-1784), and James Torrance were three sons of Sgt. Hugh Terence of Ireland (with Scottish lineage). Albert immigrated to Philadelphia, and settled in the Conocoheague Settlement in Franklin County, Pennsylvania by 1751. Hugh immigrated to Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and served in the Revolutionary War. James, the third son, remained in Ireland. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Missouri and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated from Scotland or England to Quebec, Manitoba and elsewhere in Canada. Includes ancestors in Scotland, Ireland and elsewhere.

James Bell was born about 1710, probably in Northern Ireland of parents from Scotland, and immigrated about 1730 to Carlisle, Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania. In 1738 he moved to Augusta Co., Virginia. He married Agnes Hogshead, and died in 1781/82. Includes Carter, Harrison, Henderson, Montgomery, Parks (Parkes, Park), Walker, Williams.

Daniel Malone was born in Ireland in about 1643. He immigrated to America in about 1655. In 1665 he was living in Virginia. He is believed to be the earliest Malone ancestor to settle in Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas and elsewhere.

John Pleasants (1644/1645-1698), a Quaker convert, immigrated from England to Henrico County, Virginia during or before 1670. George Pleasant (d.1697) immigrated from England to York County, Virginia during or before 1669. There is no evidence of direct family relationship between the two. Descendants lived in most of the United States.

Rowland Cornelius immigrated from England to Virginia in 1665, and moved to Cecil County, Maryland during or before 1677. Descendants lived in Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, California and elsewhere.
