Synopsis Portrait of the Dog As a Young Artist by : F. Bowman Hastie, III
The artist's primary process is a dynamic color transfer technique. In preparation for each of Tillie's works, her assistant assembles a touch-sensitive recording device by affixing pigment-coated vellum to a pre-cut piece of paper backed by mat board. The artist takes the prepared canvas in her mouth and brings it to her workspace. Working on the outside surface, she applies pressure with teeth and claws in a methodic ritual marked by dramatic shifts in tempo and intensity. The resultant sharp and sweeping intersecting lines are complemented by the artist's delicate paw prints and subtle tongue impressions, composing an expressionistic image that is revealed on the paper beneath when she is finished. She works with shocking intensity, sometimes to the point of destroying her creations. Her intense, instinctive scratch marks - mostly in red, blue, yellow and black - have drawn comparisons to abstract artists Jackson Pollock and Cy Twombly.

Synopsis The Art of the Dog by : Thomas Purcell
The reason I felt compelled to write this book is because I guess I am a bit of a rebel in that I disagree with much of the practices I see from many other dog trainers. Having established that, I don’t claim to be the “know all and end all” of dog training. What I do believe is that if you follow the information that I am sharing, you should have the joy of a great relationship with your canine best friend.

Synopsis The Boston Terrier, and All about It by : Edward Axtell
Excerpt from The Boston Terrier, and All About It: A Practical, Scientific, and Up to Date Guide, to the Breeding of the American Dog The men composing the Boston Terrier Club, who framed this standard in 1900, were as thoughtful a body as could possibly be gotten together, and they carefully considered and de liberated over every point at issue, and in my estimation this standard is as near perfect as any can be. I was an interested participant in the discussion of the same, having in my mind's eye as models those two noted dogs owned by that wonderful judge of the breed, Mr. Alex. Goode, Champion Monte, and his illustrious sire, Buster. If one takes the pains to analyze the standard he will be impressed by the perfect co-relation of harmony of all parts of the dog, from the tip of his broad, even muzzle, to the end of his short screw tail. Nothing incongruous in its makeup presents itself, but a graceful, symmetrical style characterizes the dog, and I firmly believe that any change whatever would be a detriment.
