Synopsis The Universal Christ by : Richard Rohr
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From one of the world’s most influential spiritual thinkers, a long-awaited book exploring what it means that Jesus was called “Christ,” and how this forgotten truth can restore hope and meaning to our lives. “Anyone who strives to put their faith into action will find encouragement and inspiration in the pages of this book.”—Melinda Gates In his decades as a globally recognized teacher, Richard Rohr has helped millions realize what is at stake in matters of faith and spirituality. Yet Rohr has never written on the most perennially talked about topic in Christianity: Jesus. Most know who Jesus was, but who was Christ? Is the word simply Jesus’s last name? Too often, Rohr writes, our understandings have been limited by culture, religious debate, and the human tendency to put ourselves at the center. Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world. “God loves things by becoming them,” he writes, and Jesus’s life was meant to declare that humanity has never been separate from God—except by its own negative choice. When we recover this fundamental truth, faith becomes less about proving Jesus was God, and more about learning to recognize the Creator’s presence all around us, and in everyone we meet. Thought-provoking, practical, and full of deep hope and vision, The Universal Christ is a landmark book from one of our most beloved spiritual writers, and an invitation to contemplate how God liberates and loves all that is.

Synopsis Christ and Evolution by : Celia Deane-Drummond
The figure of Christ is at the heart of Christian faith and self-understanding, whether conservative or liberal. In this volume, widely acclaimed theologian Celia Deane-Drummond sets out to develop an understanding of Christ that is far more conscious of the evolutionary history of humanity and current evolutionary theories about the natural world. It argues that the concepts of wisdom and wonder have special roles in both theology and science and can point to an integrated, inclusive spirituality and a fuller vision of life and the universe. Synopsis Jesus Christ by : Scott Bayles
The world needs heroes... champions of truth and justice who fight for what's right and save the day. And nobody does heroes better than comic-books. Clad in colorful capes and costumes, superheroes regularly thwart would-be world conquerors and fend off alien invasions. The only drawback is... they aren't real. They only exist in imaginary stories created by talented authors and artists. So we look for real heroes... athletes, doctors, firefighters, police, etc. But real heroes fail us often enough to remind us that they aren't very super after all. Fortunately, these heroes point beyond themselves to someone both real and super... Someone who came to earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men, and gave his life to save the world! His name is Jesus Christ! In Jesus Christ: The World's Great Hero! author and artist Scott Bayles condenses the greatest story ever told into a fast-paced, action-packed, twenty-four page graphic novel. Highlighting Christ's heroic nature, Jesus Christ: The World's Greatest Hero! is perfect for children as well as adult comic-book collectors!

Synopsis Transforming Our Human Forms Into Christ's by : Paul Engoulou Nsong
Are you puzzled by the nature and system of Aidan Nichols's theological contribution? Are you looking for a way to renew your appreciation for Nichols's theological activity? Do you want to clarify your understanding of Nichols's anthropological view? Father Engoulou Paul discusses these and many others interesting matters in this book. He carefully analyzes the different layers on which Nichols posits his philosophical and theological principles of order. He explains historically each foundational step from which Nichols draws his public doctrine of man and God. He arrives at the conclusion that man arrives at a self-knowledge and the knowledge of God, to the extent that he makes use of practical, liturgical, and rational concepts and forms embedded in Philosophy, theology, and visual art. Designed to be primarily a scholarly treatment of God's evidences into personal, communal nature of man, and the meaning of his life-work, this book is also a critical treatment of secularism and its attendants: liberalism, relativism and positivism.

Synopsis Jesus Christ after Two Thousand Years by : Frank O'Hara
This work proposes the model of translation for the incarnation. According to this model, in Jesus Christ the eternal Word of God was translated into human flesh and form. Thus in Jesus Christ the invisible became visible, the inaudible became audible, the intangible became tangible, and the impalpable became palpable (cf. I John 1:1-4). This translation is brought about inasmuch as the heart of Jesus is the heart of the Word-made-flesh because it is the heart-of-the-Word made flesh. All the sentiments of the Word towards his Father, towards the Holy Spirit, and towards the whole of creation find expression in the human heart of Jesus Christ. The very being of the Word is thus expressed for us in the humanity of Jesus. That humanity is taken up into and hypostatically united to the Word of God through the medium of Word-consciousness, namely the consciousness in the human mind of Jesus of being the Word expressed in human form.
