Synopsis Ragnarok: The Abyss by : Tim Korklewski

Ginnungagap, the Gaping Abyss, was once what separated the realms of Ice and Fire, keeping them in balance and sparing the other realms from their ravages. With the Nine Realms shattered, however, Ginnungagap has been left unguarded and unspeakable horrors now await those who wish to cross it. Ragnarok: The Abyss includes new scenarios for Ragnarok as well as new monsters to vanquish in glorious battle. New mechanics introduce something once barely recognised by war clans – Fear – and present entirely new challenges for them to overcome in the telling of their sagas.

Synopsis Engineering for Human-Computer Interaction by : Stéphane Chatty

The aim of IFIP Working Group 2.7 (13.4) for User Interface Engineering is to investigate the nature, concepts and construction of user interfaces for software systems. The group's scope is: • developing user interfaces based on knowledge of system and user behaviour; • developing frameworks for reasoning about interactive systems; and • developing engineering models for user interfaces. Every three years, the group holds a "working conference" on these issues. The conference mixes elements of a regular conference and a workshop. As in a regular conference, the papers describe relatively mature work and are thoroughly reviewed. As in a workshop, the audience is kept small, to enable in-depth discussions. The conference is held over 5-days (instead of the usual 3-days) to allow such discussions. Each paper is discussed after it is presented. A transcript of the discussion is found at the end of each paper in these proceedings, giving important insights about the paper. Each session was assigned a "notes taker", whose responsibility was to collect/transcribe the questions and answers during the session. After the conference, the original transcripts were distributed (via the Web) to the attendees and modifications that clarified the discussions were accepted.

Synopsis Ragnarok by : Tim Korklewski

The end of the Aesir has come, but not as the prophecies foretold. The dread dragon Niddhoggr has devoured the roots of the World Ash, Yggdrasil, and the great tree has toppled onto its side, crashing the realms of mortal and supernatural together. With the gods dead and the fires of ruin consuming the world, your war clan of Viking warriors know what they must do to survive the destruction of the Nine Realms and restore order: they must become the new gods! Ragnarok is a campaign-driven skirmish game in which players form a Viking war clan seeking to prove itself worthy of becoming the new pantheon. The use of a mechanic called Godspark means that battles are no longer determined by merely striking an opponent and dealing damage. Instead, warriors will be pushing, throwing, and crashing their opponents around the battlefield, making their very environment a weapon. As the war clans develop, they may gain glorious new powers that will bring them closer to godhood, or win the respect of the denizens of the realms, allowing them to bring dire wolves, dwarves, and even the dreaded giants into their war clans. With strategic gameplay and epic storytelling, players must write their own sagas and tell of how their war clans have, through blood and steel, clawed their way up from ruin to stand before the halls of Valhalla.

Synopsis Bringing Ragnarok by : Andrew M. Tanner

Six friends go hiking in Iceland and are dragged into the middle of a bizarre plot to end all Worlds. Inner Sol, 2147 An Insurgence Raider soars past a constellation of Habitats - gigantic space stations where billions of people have been exiled from Earth by the Terrestrial Governing Authority. Yarielis has no idea her autism makes her the ideal biological component of a battle-hungry sentient spaceship named Olga. Or that her brother Loucas is the key to triggering a rebellion against TGA oppression. Hunted as criminals, siblings from Puerto Rico are thrust into the center of an epic struggle waged across the colonized solar system. Post-America, 2041 Rival factions vie for control of hundreds of nuclear weapons lurking under the former state of Montana, their silos guarded by a UN-backed private military organization calling itself the Missoula Regiment. Kim, Timur, and Patrick appear in the middle of a firefight, mistaken for new recruits by former U.S. Army sergeant Sandra Chavez, a woman with the dust of way too many deployments on her combat boots. And the friends' appearance in Idaho has immediate consequences certain to plunge the region into a new round of violence. Europe, 1944 Adolf Hitler and his vicious Nazi regime are less than a year from total defeat. A group of military officers, desperate to prevent Germany's complete annihilation, are about to attempt his assassination - and fail. Eryn finds herself face to face with the Fuhrer himself in Rastenburg, Prussia on 20 July - and she knows just enough about Operation Valkyrie to change the course of history. But helping the German Resistance overthrow the Nazis means Eryn is trapped on the wrong side of the lines in the bitter final year of the Second World War, a rebel officer named Hans Lewinsky by her side - true motivations unknown. The Metaverse On top of everything - there's something much, much worse on the way - for everyone in the Nine Worlds. Turns out, mythology really is garbled memory of the true nature of reality. Synopsis Fascism and Ideology by : Salvatore Garau

This book develops a number of new conceptual tools to tackle some of the most hotly debated issues concerning the nature of fascism, using three profoundly different national contexts in the inter-war years as case studies: Italy, Britain and Norway. It explores how fascist ideology was the result of a sustained struggle between competing internal factions, which created a precarious, but also highly dynamic, balance between revolutionary/totalitarian and conservative/authoritarian tendencies. Such a balance meant that these movements were hybrids with a surprising degree of internal diversity, which cannot be explained away as simple opportunism or lack of ideological substance. The book's focus on fascist ideology's internal variety and aggregative potential leads it to argue that when fascism "succeeded," this was less an effect of its revolutionary ideas, than of the opposite – namely, its power to integrate elements from other pre-existing ideologies. Given the prevailing opinion that fascism is revolutionary by definition, the book ultimately poses a challenge to the dominant view in the field of fascist studies.
