Synopsis Lust for Light by : Hannah Stouffer
Whether it glows lustrously from neon, emanates purely from LEDs or radiates with intensity from lasers, this elemental medium, light, fascinates artists and viewers alike. Lust for Light selects works by artists who have used light as a primary or catalyzing agent in the featured pieces. Taking a dynamic approach in its curation, the book features the use of illumination in more traditional gallery forms as well as in three dimensional and large-scale installation pieces. Many of the featured artists are skilled fabricators who have been honing their light-inspired works for years, while others have made stunning pieces through collaborations and daring forays, cross-pollinating their artistic visions with new technologies in the process. Featured artists include Yayoi Kusama, Ivan Navarro, Jennifer Steinkamp, Laddie John Dill, Joanie Lemercier, Massimo Uberti, Barry Underwood, Miguel Chevalier, James Clar, Liz West and more.

This novel centres on four generations of a once terribly wealthy and influential timber family who have fallen from grace; a mysterious yet majestic mansion, crumbling slowy into the bluff overlooking Puget Sound in Seattle; a love affair so powerful it reaches across the planes of existence; and a young man who simply wants his parents to once again experience the moment they fell in love, hoping that if can feel that emotion again, maybe they won't get divorced after all.

Synopsis Abide In Me by : Douglas J. Early
The scriptures of the Christian faith speak of a life qualitatively different from that which we see portrayed on videos, movie screens, and the pages of magazines. The Scriptures proclaim that we can experience the "life of God" here and now. Most of us long for such a life, but have discovered that experiencing this life of God is not simply a matter of following seven specific steps or nine important principles. In this book, Rev. Douglas J. Early reminds us that the way to the fullness of life that God offers us has little to do with our own striving and far more to do with receiving what is already at hand. Using wisdom found in 1 John, Abide In Me serves as a guide to experiencing a life of joy, purpose, and love. Readers are invited to explore the breadth and depth of the life that comes from abiding in the presence of Christ and attending to the Spirit of Christ abiding in each of us. For anyone wanting more in life but tired of working hard and getting nowhere, this book offers hope for experiencing the life of God in Christ, here and now.

Synopsis Anthony McCall by : Branden Wayne Joseph
Anthony McCall's Line Describing a Cone has long been a classic of American avant-garde cinema, but because it was most often screened in dusty Soho lofts in the past, the piece was little known to a wider audience. The inclusion of Line Describing a Cone,1973 in the Whitney Museum of American Art exhibition "Into the Light: the Projected Image in American Art, 1964-1977" has opened McCall's work to a great deal of interest both in America and abroad. While curators are only now beginning to mine the history of the projected image in art, McCall continues to be one of the most important of the Post-Minimalist artists to use projected film. This book includes a major essay by Branden Joseph, an interview with the artist by Jonathan Walley, and the first photo-documentation ever made of his pieces as well as diagrams of related works. Additional biographical and bibliographic materials are included in the book to provide a baseline for further scholarly research in the area, as well as 100 never-before-seen reproductions of historical photographs, sketches, and diagrams from the artist's archive. New photography of the never-before-photographed Long Film For Four Projectors, 1974 was commissioned for this book. Anthony McCall: The Solid Light Films and Related Works is a co-publication with the New Art Trust in San Francisco, California.
