This book explores the rich history of the keyword from its earliest manifestations (long before it appeared anywhere in Google Trends or library cataloging textbooks) in order to illustrate its implicit and explicit mediation of human cognition and communication processes. Bijna 4000 referenties zijn in deze bibliografie verzameld. De selectie werd beperkt door uitsluitend referenties te verzamelen die betrekking hebben op methyl of ethyl en bovendien afkomstig zijn van biomassa bronnen. De referenties zijn gerangschikt in hoofdstukken zoals veevoeder, produktiemethoden, bijprodukten, brandstof voor voertuigen (uitgezonderd vliegtuigen en raketten) en economische, milieu- en politieke aspecten.
