Synopsis George IV by : Jonathan Marsden
Published to accompany a major exhibition at The Queen's Galleries in London and Edinburgh, this book provides new insights into George IV as a collector. Although George led a life bounded by convention, he was a genuine connoisseur who was able to form an unrivalled collection of paintings, porcelain and furniture. These he presented and displayed in a series of architecturally adventurous spaces. His acquisitions continue to form the backdrop to royal ceremony, a legacy that is one of the principal pillars of today's magnificent Royal Collection.

Synopsis The Magnificent Soul by : George Walter Chyz
This 330 page book offers a consciousness based view of reality that focuses on the human soul. Remarkable scientific research provides compelling support for the theory that a soul resides in the human heart. Excerpts from a wide variety of spiritual texts further endorse the age-old soul in the heart concept. Additionally, a gut-mind is included to form a novel "Triality" of human consciousness. This head-heart-gut model is used to resolve mysteries that have remained unsolved by materialistic science. For instance the superconscious-soul is shown to be the elusive source of intuition, conscience, genius, love, happiness, health, infallible wisdom and more. The keys to unlocking these treasures of the soul are; opening the heart, following the heart, and opening to love. These vague concepts are demystified using plain language, illustrative examples, and clarifying diagrams. The depth of understanding conveyed reveals how to access these inner treasures. To provide a realistic setting, a perspective of reality that's founded on consciousness is presented. With the antiquated materialistic view of reality flipped right-side-up, a consciousness-origin cosmology reveals a purpose for humanity that fits reality and solves evermore confounding mysteries. Most importantly, tools and techniques are offered for the reader to deepen their relationship between the ego-mind in their head and the superconscious-soul in their heart to enjoy the most blessed life possible. Even miraculous physical healing can be accomplished by directly and sincerely asking one's magnificent soul for assistance. Finally, the last chapter provides astonishing support from the Hopi people and a famous Hawaiian kahuna, Daddy Bray. This gripping ending draws you into the exciting awakening that George experienced on the adventure of discovery that led to this book. Praise for The Magnificent Soul: "With George's in-depth research, entertaining stories and spiritual guidance, 'The Magnificent Soul' provides a primer on how to open your heart and engage your superconscious-soul. It is enlightening, transformative and a must read for those searching for understanding and mortal joy." -Michelle Quarton, LMSW, life coach, mediator and co-founder of rediscovering-yourself.com

Synopsis The Magnificent Ambersons by : Booth Tarkington
Major Amberson had “made a fortune” in 1873, when other people were losing fortunes, and the magnificence of the Ambersons began then. Magnificence, like the size of a fortune, is always comparative, as even Magnificent Lorenzo may now perceive, if he has happened to haunt New York in 1916; and the Ambersons were magnificent in their day and place. Their splendour lasted throughout all the years that saw their Midland town spread and darken into a city, but reached its topmost during the period when every prosperous family with children kept a Newfoundland dog. In that town, in those days, all the women who wore silk or velvet knew all the other women who wore silk or velvet, and when there was a new purchase of sealskin, sick people were got to windows to see it go by. Trotters were out, in the winter afternoons, racing light sleighs on National Avenue and Tennessee Street; everybody recognized both the trotters and the drivers; and again knew them as well on summer evenings, when slim buggies whizzed by in renewals of the snow-time rivalry. For that matter, everybody knew everybody else’s family horse-and-carriage, could identify such a silhouette half a mile down the street, and thereby was sure who was going to market, or to a reception, or coming home from office or store to noon dinner or evening supper.

Synopsis The Magnificent Ambersons by : Booth Tarkington
The Magnificent Ambersons, winner of the 1919 Pulitzer prize, is considered by many to be Booth Tarkington’s finest novel and an American classic. The story is set in the Midwest, where George, the spoiled and oblivious scion of an old-money family, must cope with their waning fortunes and the rise of industry barons in the automobile age. George’s antiheroic struggles with modernity encapsulate a greater theme of change and renewal—specifically, the very American notion of a small community exploding into a dark and dirty city virtually overnight by virtue of industrial “progress.” Tarkington’s nuanced portrayal of the often-unlikable Amberson family and his paradoxical framing of progress as a destroyer of family, community, and environment, make The Magnificent Ambersons a fascinating and forward-thinking novel—certainly one with a permanent place in the American social canon. Despite the often heavy themes, Tarkington’s prose remains uniquely witty, charming, and brisk. The novel is the second in Tarkington’s Growth trilogy of novels, and has been adapted several times for radio, film, and television, including a 1942 Orson Welles adaptation that many consider one of the finest American films ever made. This book is part of the Standard Ebooks project, which produces free public domain ebooks.
