It is only recently that the systematic study of Buddhist Art has been inaugurated. Thanks to scientific excavations and explorations carried out in India by the Indian Archaeological Survey, in Central Aisa by a number of archaeological missions on behalf of different governments, and in China by the pioneer work of the eminent French sinologist, the late Edouard Chavennes, we possess a number of invaluable facts which enable us to reconstruct the vast domain of Buddhist Art. It is true that it is not yet possible to write a history of Buddhist Art in all its phases and different epochs. This huge work remains to be done, and we only can hope that future investigations in this field will facilitate the scholar's task. But if the complete history of Buddhist Art is still to be written, we can already affirm the unity of its evolution. -- Introduction.

An adventure into the heart of Buddhist wisdom through the Madhyamika—or Middle Way—teachings This book includes a verse translation of the Madhyamakavatara by the renowned seventh-century Indian master Chandrakirti, an extremely influential text of Mahayana Buddhism, followed by an exhaustive logical explanation of its meaning by the modern Tibetan master Jamgön Mipham, composed approximately twelve centuries later. Chandrakirti's work is an introduction to the Madhyamika teachings of Nagarjuna, which are themselves a systematization of the Prajnaparamita, or “Perfection of Wisdom” literature, the sutras on the crucial but elusive concept of emptiness. This book is a core study text for both academic students and practitioners of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism.

This collection includes the Vada-Vidhi, a work on logic; the Pancaskandhakaprakarana, which deals with the 'aggregates' making up 'personality', the karmasiddhiprakarana, which attacks many features of earlier Buddhist psychology, the Vimsatika and Trimsika, which take Buddhist psychology into hitherto unexplored areas; the Madhyanta-vibhagabhasya, books of Mahayana realization: and the Tri-svabhav-nirdesa, which shows a way for ridding consciousness of ensnaring mental constructions.
