Synopsis Remembering by : A Coal Miner's Son
I want to thank my Mother and Father for engraining in me the values I have always tried to live by. Honesty, Truth, and to help others when they need help. My brothers and sister for all of the memories I have of growing up in what I think were the best of times. The many friends I had at that time and the adventure we embarked on each day. The teachers who instilled in me the virtues I lived by later in life. The soldiers who fought and died to insure that this country remain strong for generations to come. I also want to thank God for the many blessings I receive each day. I feel I am the luckiest man in the world to have grown up in the time period that I did. With that I will leave you and pray that all of you have enjoyed life as much as I have. A coal miners son.

Synopsis Greensburg Memories by : Leo Wright
I am a Green County, Kentucky native, born on Locust Grove Road in 1936. Our family, (mom, dad and I) moved to Greensburg in 1942 and established a residence on Henry Street where I resided until 1954 when I graduated from high school and left to go to college. The stories relayed here represent the memories and events related to my youth on Henry Street. All events are true and derived from memory supplemented by facts as recorded in various documents. I write them to preserve the memories of my youth, pass them on to my family and others so they may reminisce of a quality of life gone by and provide for those who did not live in the era a history of the times and conditions of Henry Street during the 1950’s. In retrospect, I do wish those times were still existent.

Synopsis Memory by : Elizabeth F. Loftus
Our memories are our most reliable sources of information about ourselves, our friends and lovers, our jobs. Or are they? We know we may occasionally forget someone's birthday, miss appointments, or lose track of details. But what about the times we're sure we remember something, only to find out it didn't happen that way? Memory is a look at man's oldest nemesis. Psychologist Elizabeth Loftus tells us not only about the workings of the memory, but also why memory is a faulty faculty, an often unreliable source for the truth. She offers insightful analysis into the many dimensions of memory and discusses the ramifications of these findings in a variety of contexts and offers specific hints on fighting forgetting.

Synopsis Down Mason City's Memory Lane by : Dale C. Fancher
Mason City, Illinois, a tiny rural community in the heart of the Midwest, is the setting for Dale Fancher's book of reflections and memories of a day gone by. A lifelong resident of Mason City, Fancher has a keen mind, and a heart for the quaint, easily lost memories of youth: From bathing in a galvanized washtub, to trailing behind the ice-delivery truck to beg shards of ice on a hot day; from fishing at Salt Creek at night and listening to the bobcats, to World War II blackouts. Reading Fancher's book, one becomes familiar with local characters like Kenny Hanover, still barbering after fifty years, and Edna Sylvie, the barefoot taxi lady. Told as a series of "Remember when .?" and "Did you ever .?" snippets, reading this book is like flipping through an old family photo album.

Synopsis Imaginal Memory and the Place of Hiroshima by : Michael Perlman
Hiroshima claims a crucial yet neglected place in the psychic terrain of our individual and collective memories. Drawing on recent work in depth psychology and Jungian thought, this study explores the ancient art of remembering by envisioning "places" and "images" that are impressed upon the memory. Enthusiastically used by ancient, medieval, and Renaissance explorers of soul and spirit, the art of memory became a profound expression of striving for cultural reform and an end to religious cruelty. Imaginal Memory and the Place of Hiroshima shows that images arising from the place of Hiroshima reveal, with stark exactitude, the psychic situation of our world. Specific images are explored that embody unsuspected psychological values beyond their role as reminders of the concrete horror of nuclear war. The process of remembering these images deepens into a commemoration of the fundamental powers at work in the psyche—powers that are critical to the development of a sustained cultural commitment to peace and to the deepening and revitalizing of contemporary psychological life.

Synopsis Memories by : Katarina Nikolic
In the book “Memories” is a collection of poems, written throughout various periods of my life. In it I talk about my thoughts and feelings, that I hope many can relate to. The main message I hope to deliver is that even when everything around you seems to crumble and fall apart there is always a light of hope that will shine through if only you can see it. I would like to say special thanks to my mother and grandmother, who kept believing in me; to my good friend Victoria Woodward, who helped me translate some of the poems and who was the first reader of my book; and a very special thank you to a person who helped me through a very difficult time in my life and helped me see that sometimes writing is all you need, Irina Milosevic. Without each of you I would not have begun my book, I would not have translated it, and most importantly I would not have believed I could finish it. I can only hope that my poems can bring the reader solace and comfort they brought to me.
